I can get the new hitec servos. It will take me around a week. I need to order them anyways. I can also get the 465mg servos if you like them. For dual steering servos, the 625 mg would be my choice over the 645 servos, simply because it has a faster transit time. With both of them, you would still have around 200oz/in of torque, which is plenty. I personally like the 5945 servos, as they are strong and fast. Only one of these is needed. Even one 625 servo is a lot better than the stock unit, two would be a real nice steering setup if you ask me. As far as the titanium geared servos go, they sure sound nice and have enough power to do a lot of work, but I am curious how the titanium gears will hold up. Titanium doesn't have the greatest wear characteristics and I would be concerned that the gears would wear out quicker. I could be wrong on this one, but it makes me wonder.

Hmm, I'll wait until I hear some experiences on the Ti servos, then.
Thanks for your opinion. I'll try dual 625, I think. On 6V it should be good. I'll put them on the list. |
I decided to use the Hitec-5645. 164 in-oz and .02 sec faster than the 645 with 6 volts, works really nice in the Savage. I did consider the 5945 but I'm quite happy with the 5645. I am thinking of getting a 625 for the throttle though, I noticed the standard 50 in-oz servo is on the slow side overcoming the throttle return spring. Any suggestions for for servo there or would the 625 be a good choice.
And no problem jacking thread, seems like a good place to discuss servo choices. (perhaps a mod or admin can change the title to just servos or something along that, there is a good discussion going. |
