Is that possible to do? hmmm.....I have an extra channel available, on fan to power. I may have to give that a try.

I run two fans off one channel, just wire them parrallel. The only problem is, if you have 12v fans, they won't be as effective as like 2 5v fans though because they(12v) require more current.

I'm going to guess that mine is a 12V since it came out of my old HP, but I'm not certain. 12V doesnt necessarily require more current do they? They just have a higher input voltage? I'm going to wire it up and see how it works. By going to the reciever, do you have the ability to turn it off and on, or does that just reverse the direction?

Yes, I asked Mike and he hooked me up. The plasidip gives them some insulation and grip. I am going to do the battery sections of the chassis as well.

Fans are both 5v one to the UBEC and one to the reciever. I had a 12v, but it turned pretty slowly. The 5v is the way to go!

I wish I had a couple RC Monster stickers, so I could give Mike the credit he deserves. I would also like to change the H in Hellfire to Sm so it would say Smellfire, but I don't know how to make a sticker that would look any good.

Thanks to everyone for all the help. I still have some tweaking to do, but I am well on my way!

For the fans, it's just a matter of watts.... the basic formula watts= volts x amps tells you what you want.

Fans will be rated either for 5v or 12v, at whatever current level (ma).

For example, 220ma at 5v is different from 220ma at 12v if you are wondering what the drain is on the battery. 220ma at 12v is over twice the watts as the 5v...

A 5v fan should have a higher ma rating than a 12v fan if they have a similar airflow output... similar design, etc...but the power consumption in watts would be similar in theory.

Hope that makes some sense... ;)

I just have a 12V fan wired straight to all 5 lipo cells and its not blown yet standard size PC fan (with blue LED's) so it fits over motor and ESC cooling both really well
