Funny thing is that I'm gettting higher temps with both the motor and the esc than some others with similar trucks. I think I run mine harder, or with a more traction or something... :D but it still works great even with higher temps. Still well within acceptable limits.

What kind of temps are you getting? Details on weight, motor, batts driving type?

I'm curious how others are doing with this...

When I convert to using the Mamba Max, I'll definately run it with a fan. I think most of the reason why my temps are so low with my current setup is because I'm not doing too much braking. I mainly rely on the driveline resistance to slow the truck down on the short straight aways and slide it through the corners. I only really use the brakes hard through 3 corners on our track.

Do you use any drag brake or any timing advance on your mamba powered setup?

Honestly the last time I went to plug in the MM into the comp, the usb ports on my comp died :o. It had been having some problems w/ the usb (like freezing up when plugging stuff in..) and I haven't gotten around to fixing it. I may need a new mobo, so... not too soon.

Anyway, I don't race, and so I've left the settings as stock (some drag brake, no advance IIRC, esp w/ a 2-pole BK motor.) I do some braking, but prob not as much and as hard/freq as during a race, so YMMV.

The motor mount is 7075 aluminum. I mounted the motor laying down on the motor mount and not up in the air, to prevent stressing the motor mount on hard landings. I figured just regular aluminum angle would have worked, but had access to the good stuff and used it.

Your Mamba Max setup is exactly what I was thinking, Very Nice Setup! My local industrial supply shop stocks nylon, alum, steel 4-40 standoff's in varying lengths - so it shouldn't be too hard to do. I still have some left over carbon fiber and could easily make a larger center diff top plate to accommidate the esc, standoff's, and fan.

Very nice, these truggies seem to afford alot more space than the Revos, so mounting options turn out much cleaner. I really hate putting the Rx over the rear shocks on mine, but I just don't see any space for it that isn't too close to noisy stuff. That truck should run like a beast!

I made the mount so the motor is low enough to touch the lower leg of the L.
