It's what he had. It's still lighter & smaller than a reciver pack .

I soldered leads for my ubecs right at the circuit board. I put them on the underside of the board with a connector so the ubec can be easily removed.

One tip to make this easier.... scrape or scuff the spot you solder to and check to see if the solder gets good contact, not a cold joint like Serum said, before you solder the wire s to it. Castle uses a clear coating on the MM and it can give you trouble trying to solder, so that's why I say to scrape it first... wire brush, exacto, etc...

I'm getting ready to hook up my UBEC to my MAMBA MAXX speed control. My ? is the manuel that came with the ubec says theres two ways i can hook it up. The first way hook it to the (input power source) then plug it into the reciver, this way the system will be hot when i hook up the power source. The second way is to hook it up to the (input power source) then hook up a inline switch then plug it into the reciver. The way i was going to hook it up is solder it to the power wires at the circut board then plug it into the reciver. So if i hook it up my way will the ubec still be hot when the power is hooked up or will the switch from the speedo cut the power to the ubec when it's in the off postion ?.

If you disable the internal bec. I am not sure on the mamba either.
The quark has to be turned on to work. The esc switch. The rx will
not come up until you turn the other switch on.

I would like to know how is the setup on the MM max as it comes out of the box ?. Is it safe to run 14 cells on this setup or do i need to mess with the programing at all ?.

People have run the MM right out of the box, but I think they found that they would like to program from that point as it gave too much power.

You need to use either a UBEC or receiver pack and disable the controller's BEC, though.

Yes metal man i will be using a UBEC with my 14 3800 cells. I was just wondering how the stock setup is. I thought i might try it first before reprograming it .

I need help :005: .

I'm trying tp program my mamba max with no success. First im using 14 cells my ubec is connected at the circut board with a inline switch at the reciver, & the on board bec disconected. When i turn my esc while holding the trigger on my radio it beeps 4 times all the lights blink & i have no power at my steering servo. So how can i tell if my ubec is working

Serum 12.10.2006 05:31 PM

After the full throttle, pull back to full brake. wait for the beeps, then go to neutral. It will arm from there.

rchippie 12.10.2006 05:38 PM

I took the switch of the UBEC & it works. My next ? is to adjust how fast the power comes on am i better off adjusting the exp on my radio or reprogram my speedo ?.
