Good news on the motor.

Don't know about repairs outside of the waranty. You should call them. they answer pretty much any question I have ever had. They told me mine was ''unrepairable'' and just replaced it outright. I don't think they are set up for any real repair work. Just replacement stuff. You might ask them if there was any core value to the burnt controller. They may give you a discounted price on a new one.

These things come with a 180 days warranty only? this is a big disappointment..

And what if you are over that by a tad? I got mine back in July, and thought about sending it in.

i hope it is out of warranty, that way i can be done with "QUARK"! this thing has been nothing but problems since day one. first off it won't handle 6s and doesn't like to handle 5s. secondly it randomly resets itself, which is dangerous when using the built in lvc and lipos! guess i'll have to send off my 12020. i tried a few laps at the track running the 12020 today and it runs at very low speeds better than the quark. after 1-2 laps all the midrange throttle went out and made it extremely painful to drive on the track. maybe the mgm 24160 is the perfect esc, i don't care how tough it is to program as long as it works properly!

Wow, it really sounds like you got a lemon. My Quark has VERY good low speed control and I've never had it "reset" on me. I've run up to 16 cells, so I'd imagine 5s would be about the same.

If you decide to get it fixed under warranty and decide you still don't want it, let me know and I may want to take it off your hands.

tallyram 12.02.2006 12:38 AM

i'll send it in for sure. if they fix/replace i'll let everyone know! help me remember that you want it and i'm sure we can work something out.

BrianG 12.02.2006 12:40 AM

Will do, and good luck with any future ESCs! Although, if you get your Quark back, I would give it one more try real quick. It really is a nice ESC despite the cooling and 6s issues...

tallyram 12.02.2006 01:33 AM

i will take pics of my wiring to see if everything is perfect, when i get it back
