The motor is definitely better than my 9xl, much, much better. The motor feels like it has much more torque and it feels much more consistent. It's like there is no end to the power band, from 0-35,000rpm it just pulls all the way. It also doesn't get as hot. I've gotten my 9xl up to around 165f while my 1515 doesn't go past 120f and it is a much hotter motor. In turn the esc does not get as hot either.
I ran my truck earlyer today, for a good 40min bashing. The temp's at the end of the run were: motor 106.1f, esc 115.3f at the caps and 105.2f around the other parts, and the lipo (4s 8Ah) was 119.4f.
I have not run 5s with it though, there is really no need to, I have all the power I want with 4s. Although 5s would be interesting.... Anyway it was a worth while investment to my brushless system. I don't think that I'd get another cheep motor anytime soon.
