For what it's worth I am running a 9xl on 6s a123 in my hyper 7 and it is INSANE! I am running 12/44 gearing and it is a lot faster than I thought it would be.

I think your definition of insanity might differ from mine. :) From a quick run of the numbers, you probably have a solid 36 - 38 mph machine there. Quick, yes, but not what I'd consider insane. For that, you have to be pushing 50 - 60 mph. My 10L is running (my guess) right at 40 mph. I need to shoot it with the radar gun.

Personally, I think you're a bit undergeared. Slap a 14T pinion on there and see how that feels. You should be close to 45 mph then. Borderline insanity!

I was mainly speaking too the use of a less "hot" motor than the 7xl and that I am using a 9xl successfully, but let me clarify, it's acceleration is insane. It's top speed is very respectable. I wanted lower gearing because my batts are 2300mah. I am getting a 14t pinion though. 50-60 is almost too much speed to be useful. I am very happy with this setup.

I have been using 5s2p A123 in my X-Terminator, but I'm looking for a lighter weight setup. Which is why I chose the Maxamps 4s1p 5000mah pack. It's only a bit heavier than a 6cell NiMh pack :).

The seller somehow messed up and sent the package to South Carolina and Paypal clearly had my address as in California. The bad thing about this is that I would get the package about 2 days after he ships it since he is also in California.

This buggy will be using the 540C 7XL from my Revo (on a Maxamps 4s1p 5000mah pack), and then my Revo will get a smooth-can 8XL. Gearing for the Hyper 8 will be 14/44, with a standard 43/13 diff ratio. The speed estimated using BrianG's calculator is about 38mph, which should be perfect for the track where this buggy will be running.

How does he know he'll even be able to get the buggy back to you if it's being delivered to someone in SC?

Good question. I live in Huntington Beach, and there is a Huntington Beach State Park in South Carolina... Although my street does not exist in that city, and assuming he put down the correct zip code, I don't know how it could even end up there.

He said if he doesn't get it back he will refund my money. And when (assuming) he does get it back, he'll send some extra parts that he was going to sell locally.

If it doesn't work out, Paypal does have a buyer protection thingy... And it's through Ebay (where the seller has pretty much no negative feedbacks) so Ebay can also take action if necessary.

Yes, but, what if he accidentally sent it to a real address...like for someone else he had a recent transaction with or something like that? That's always a possibility.

Yes, but that doesn't matter if the guy completely addressed the package incorrectly. You're assuming that the sender addressed the package to MetalMan, with the minor exception of the City and State. Not only that, but MetalMan himself only stated that there is a Huntington Beach State Park in SC, but not that the guy actually addressed it to there.

I've bought and sold quite a number of items on eBay and it's easy enough to mess up an entire address, but to only screw up the city and state? I highly doubt that.
