I just wonder if this is just a water cooled version of the MMM :028:

Really, the little one for our old small fishtank uses a rotating motor with a mini compressor thing...

Serum 03.17.2007 04:54 PM

@star; That might be!

I only hope they go higher on the voltage.. Current sounds good.. :p

Serum 03.17.2007 04:56 PM

Brian; i only know them as a vibrating membrame, powered by a non rotating motor.

BrianG 03.17.2007 05:09 PM

At any rate, it was a tongue-in-cheek suggestion anyway. :)

water cooling would be nice on hot day indeed! It's just a matter of shrinking those pumps down, and low power like you said.

I wonder, for PC chips now they are going for these new nano pumps, they don't use any power! Something to do with tiny tiny ridges inside the thing that makes water run in one direction! They would be paper thin too. then all you need is a light wieght radiator, which is kinda of an oxymoron; but still you wouldn't need much to dissipate the heat from an esc...

Zero

BrianG 03.17.2007 05:24 PM

Bah, just give me a larger heatsink or a more efficient controller! The more "stuff" you add, the more chances for something to go wrong.

starscream 03.17.2007 05:30 PM

Just fill it full of liquid nitrogen and call it a day. :032:

I would estimate the Hydra 240 has an ultra low resistance somewhere around 0.0005 ohms

Ya, I hope the MMM has similar voltage capability as the HV line. :018:

Why not use that water cooling system that Nick, I believe, posted. The radiator is pretty small as well as the pump. I believe the pump was only 12 grams and about the size of a dime.

zeropointbug 03.17.2007 11:08 PM

Really? 12 grams

Could you link me please.

squeeforever 03.17.2007 11:17 PM

Unfortunately I just reformated my harddrive and lost all my favorites. :( I'm gonna look for it now though....

zeropointbug 03.17.2007 11:22 PM

KK, thanks, im kinda interested now. I could possibly make the rear connect plate a radiator, and somehow make a water block for the Quark contoller, right inside the esc case, instead of the alum. heat spreader?

might work, little risky though...

squeeforever 03.17.2007 11:32 PM

Found it!

zeropointbug 03.18.2007 12:09 AM

SWEET! Thanks for the link Squeeforever.

That is amazing how they got it so small! I suppose there isn't much to a vibrating pump... I wonder if you can buy the parts individually? I would love to put that radiator up front on the chassis braces, up out of the way of flying stones.

I've always wanted water cooling, up until now there hasn't really been an efficient way of doing it!

starscream 03.18.2007 12:37 AM

Thanks squee,
The TCS system looks sweet. :017:
I wonder how much it adds to your over all weight.
