I think CF hingepins might be helpfull. Haven't tested it yet, need to order a set of them.

Serum, Have you had the same trouble the others mentioned? Specifically, I am curious if you have bent lower front hinge pins with the Flex Tek A-arm setup? CF hinge pins....hmmm. Is that CF as in carbon fiber? If so, I am not sure I can embrace the idea of using a composite for that type of application (hinge pins). I know that everywhere you look...in every industry...people are using it to achieve amazing results....but wow, sure is a lot of friction and trauma that a small pin has to suck up.... I won't doubt you if you test them and say its the way to go. I wonder if the guys at Beat Your Truck have tried them out? |
These hinge pins are made by Jd carbon. jhauts has used some of these carbon fiber hinge pins and likes them because they do not bend like aluminum.

Thats because the Maxx doesn't have captured hingpins. You have to drill and tap a hole for a setscrew.

for your truck to stand out mods for uniqueness is nessesary

Why not just go G3 suspension? It's so sexy and it performs great. If you just want durability, why not just spend 10 good bucks per side for some RPM arms. A much better deal I think than spending 220.
I'm sorry, but I just can't justify that much money for those arms. |
I am on my 3rd set of Ti pins with my FlexTeks and I don't even bash the damn thing.
I would love to try out those carbon pins though. |

Hey Guys,
I believe I sold my FlekTeks to Serum, the hingepins being the main reason. I saw this over at UE and the guy said it makes a huge improvement. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...xxBrace011.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...xxBrace009.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...xxBrace007.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...xxBrace005.jpg Worth a shot for those who have them. |
Thanks for getting that out RcBros! But I already posted it here on the first page. Hopefully it will help someone else with the arms, and bring there faith back in them. Mine are still holding up great!
I even ran straight into a metal light pole with my front left wheel and all it did was pull my pivot ball out of my carriers! Its crazy all these arms needed was a little hing support and now the are wonderfull! |

This is the brace I bought:http://cgi.ebay.com/ALUMINUM-REAR-LO...QQcmdZViewItem It says rear brace but it works on the front! All I had to do was grind the ends down thin enough to fit the e-clips on and clear the steering bellcrank. You can kind of see in the pictures. |
