what would be a convincing arguement in favour of a neu instead of a plettenberg?

Cheaper and probably a higher efficiency.. a neu 1512 on 4S on a revo geared for about 40-42 mph doesn't need a fan and stays cool.

are there any data sheets for the neu available?
i doubt that the pletties "need" the fans. so far i havn't seen a "hot" plettenberg.

What do you need for data? Neu Motors.com has about all the data you are going to find.

They are 4 pole motors with the coils wrapped around seperate "cores". I believe they use segmented magnets, but not sure...

Well, i don't think the bigmaxx has got the fan for nothing.. Mine got pretty hot on my savage.

i've actually seen two types of bigmaxxes. the black ones seem to have a 2 times larger fan.

well i personally never had temp issues with the maxximum in different applications and cell numbers.
anyway the maxximum w/fan and the quark 125 is a very nice combo. a rc colleague of mine has it in his sav with 14 cells and it works excellent.
i have also a bigmaxx (blue) here. maybe i will get some "troubles" with that one. i ll see.

Good thing about the Neu motors is that they are way cheaper.

plettenberg is rather hard to get in the US. since Neu is produced in the US. it's an easy choice.

I don't think the bigmaxx runs too efficient though. perhaps it was the schulze controller that was putting it in an inefficient level.

I thought about the maxximum without fan on the mambamaxx controller. On 4S it should be a blast.

are the prices so high in the us. i thought i saw the maxximum with fan for about 249$. i guess that would be quite similar to a 1515/1.5D which is in the same price range isn't it? they both are around 2700 rpm/v.

but of course i see it is more practical to get a neu in the us instead of a pletty. but that may be the the other way round here in europe.

Nope, the 1515 is more like a big-bigmaxximum.. i would say they 1509 is more like the maxximum.

ok so the bigmaxx is 299$ and the neu 280$. not that big difference.
anyway those neu look quite interesting. but i guess they are more similar than different from the pletties. but i see that advantage of buying a product that is better available in the us.

it's plain stupid of plettenberg it only comes in 1 taste.. 2200kv.. Take it or leave it.. Come on.. That's not serving the brushless market......

yes it would be nice to have more options than maxximum or bigmaxximum for 8th scale conversions from plettenberg. thats for sure.
seems that the market is still too small in their view.
