Its kind of hard to say how much they helped. I went from the original HV4400 on 7 cell Sport Packs to the same system on 7 cell GP3700's. Then, when I got my G2R, I got the (at the time new) 6.5 and threw on the extra caps for a total of 3. Ran those with my GP3700's. Then I got the Lipo's, then I threw on the 4.5. I really liked the 4.5 motor on there, but I liked the 6.5 alot too. The 4.5 ran just like the 6.5 but had more upper end pull (pretty much like a 6.5 besides the fact it kept pulling when the 6.5 had "revved out"). From what I could tell, the extra caps helped keep my electronics cooler, especially the batteries. It apparently leveled out the spikes in the current draw by providing the power for the spikes. It seemed to give a small boost in acceleration and throttle response as well. With one cap, later in the run, if I punched it off the line, the truck would go, then kind of let off, then continue on to top speed. The "go" is probably the one cap helping, but it didn't have enough, and thus the "let off." With 3 caps, it seemed that no matter what, it just "went" to top speed, no matter how high or low that top speed was. All I can say is torque was enough to snap my aluminum output shaft like a toothpick, so it must have helped somewhat. So yea, it does help. If you are interested, I still have my caps and my 4.5 motor (just the motor) that I'm selling. The caps have probably 15 runs on them, but they work fine. The 4.5 has just two runs. My bad, I have the original HV4400, not the 6.5. At the moment Im saving for a Quark 125b & 8XL, but thanks for the offer anyway. Im also getting some of those low esr caps from thingy (forgotten his name), so I will see what difference it makes on the HV. Thanks for the info though- its good to know adding extra caps makes some difference.
