hey guys, just read a review on the mamba max/5700 combo.... This combo seem to be the one I'm looking for.... can run from 7.2 to 14.4 volt... just wondering... this motor is made for 1/10 scale... mine is 1/8th little over 5 lbs without motor/electronic/battery....

is this motor ok for my conversion? I'm planning to gear it 14/51 and use a123 cell (9.9 volts, 2300 mah)

You can use the MMesc but the 5700 motor is for 10th scale by the time you add everything to run your going to be around 7-8lb's plus your going to need a larger motor. and you will probably have to run the A123 cells in a 2p configuration 9.9v 4600mah min to get the capacity needed.

hey guys... I'm alomost decide on motor/esc.. almost :) Just have a question (or two) For the esc, will buy castel mm

first : Feigao brushless motor 540 8xl or Feigao 540C 8XL Brushless Motors? Is that the same motor but with heatsink?

second : the feigao 10xl have a higher kv? not suppose to be the opposite? higher turn motor have less kv?

third : 2 pack of gp 3300.... maybe 7-8 minutes of run time? what do you think..... I'm a little affraid of li-po... my second choice is apogee li-mn but the don't do it in 4s...

thanks a lot guys.. you help is really appreciated

1 The C type has got the heatsink integrated
2 No, Lower KV, which should give you a longer runtime and a bit more torque
3 a bit Longer than 7-8 minutes

About KV/brushless etc;

uarghhh Read my thread about I'm Shocked about BL power.
I'm sitting here and thought same before i saw how it works on real life.
It depends where you plan run your buggy, just speed rund YES setup OK but for track you need thing carefuly

My choice for the batteries have stop on 3s 3800 mah Li-Mn battery pack (good choice???) My charger only go for 3s so.... For the esc, Mamba max....

So, what motor will give me a decent 40mph on 11.1 volts?

35000 rpm / 11.1 = 3152... so I need a 3100 kv motor I guess.... maybe the feigae 7xl? I think it's rated 2800 kv or near that.... does it make a good combo?

thanks guys....

way to small runtime. I think with this setup and 7XL you will gain less than 10mins of runtime. Maybe 5-7min becouse powerhungry 7XL draw your 3S battery way too fast. Second you need realy good batteries, that can handle easy about 100Amps. Go different way. 4S and 9XL or even 10XL. Depends...
with 9XL and 10XL you lowering Amp draw it means more runtime less heat etc. and with 4S you compensate speed. and you can use cheaper batteries 10C-15C

The 7XL is rated at ~2200 kv (the kv value you gave is without a load, the 2200 is with load)

I used the 7XL on 3S, but it was geared for about 25mph, which makes more sense. you need 4S for the speed you want.

And on 4S i would use either a 8 or 9XL.

for the 7XL on 3S; i used it geared on 25 mph, and it gave me a good 20 minutes runtime (rather slow bashing) on a 3000mAh lipo pack.
