Ah, my bad- seem to have forgotten the intended vehicle for this idea to be tried in. Yep, a nice little TA02 weighs... dunno, not much though so it should scream like you said.

My Ta
Well I've bolted in the HV MAXX ESC into the old TA02.
Will try it with 7 Cells and work my way upwards. http://images.onesite.com/boardrider...g/s5000361.jpg http://images.onesite.com/boardrider...g/s5000364.jpg I don't think the idler will last so I have ordered a metal one for the Tamiya Topforce off Ebay. So far it weighs around 1888 Grams w/batteries but no body or Rx. Since i'm only running 7 Cells I'm only getting 8.4 x 3100 = 26040 +/- 1000 rpm. So it isn't as quick as any Mamba/Novak 540 setup. I would think the Torque will eat the transmission for lunch. I only have drift wheels on at the moment. How do you think it will go? Cheers |
Should work fine, so long as the drive train doesnt crap out on you. I would love to see it on 12-14 cells, but lack of space could be a problem, and the gearbox would probably melt into a molten blob of plastic- should be fun though.

so did you just solder all battery wires onto one plug? thinking of doing this
|
I havent done it, but it is a very easy mod- the Hvmaxx instructions tell you how to do this by removing one of the plugs & leads, then soldering a 'jumper' (short length of wire) in its place, so that you can connect your batteries via a single conector = much neater & fewer wires.

ah ok, cool
