Well, the XL stampede and rustler are $200 CAD, I think the BL version is prob going to be ~$350, just a guess. maybe they will sell it for less, as they have a lot of leverage with there R/C empire.
|
I bought an XL5 recently, to just play with but got bored with it and FLMed it, now i'm thinking 6s and XL1200 for it. I may get the stampede version and keep it stock and beat it into the ground

That is pretty that traxxas did that.. i was waitin' for a long time for this.. but it's almost useless to buy, they still have stock plastic gears...
160+ Amps.. maybe it's an MGM 12.160 in disguise?... |
You guys talking about it doing either sensored or sensorless haven't seen the GM Genius 80 ESC, have you? It'll do either or as well and is already available for under $200. It doesn't have as high of a current rating, but if you're using a sensored motor, 200A doesn't matter since no sensored motors on the market pull that kind of juice.
Links to the GM-Racing products: Motor: http://shop.graupner.de/webuerp/servlet/AI?ARTN=97230 (Yes, this will run on a MM as a sensorless motor...confirmed by an employee of Team Orion who rebadges this motor to sell in the US) ESC: http://shop.graupner.de/webuerp/servlet/AI?ARTN=2894 IMO, the velineon isn't any better of a product that anything else currently on the market. Also, having to buy it as a combo only will severely hamper the sales of it to guys like us. |

However, I have my doubts to whether this would be a good ESC for 1/8 use, but i wouldn't be suprized to learn a larger version is waiting in the wings. Still can't believe it was TRX to be the 1st to release a mainstream 200A BL esc for the car market. Shocking... |

I believe that the "Big Brushless" system destined for the E-Revo and freshened E-Maxx will be coming on the heels of this. That's all good news! |
MSRP is 300

First real Monster Truck. First multi use electric MT. First MT that broke all the rules and could compete with Truggys. The only other BL RTR out there was some Losi junk using Novak overstock systems that barely go faster than the stock brushed system. |
Anybody have the diff part number? I want to pre-order one now.

70mph? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, lol.
|
rumor has it that Traxxas is building the BL ESCs & motors "in house". That means the reality of a MT capable BL system from Traxxas is not much of a stretch to believe.
