Oh, I don't even want to start on what my wife thinks of all of this. Not too long ago, she was going through the bank statements for my personal account to do the taxes. She thought it would be funny to let me know how much I had spent at my LHS last year. The total came to over $8000. I could have stood not to have known that, but I didn't tell her that the total didn't reflect my cash purchases and purchases on line. She kept asking me what all of the paypal charges were for. If she ever gets into my paypal account records, I'll be a dead man.

LOL!
yeah, i get these things from time to time.. some meaningless sums, pointless numbers i don't even remember.. Buy flowers, and you should be fine.. Our house is known as the greenest one around.. |
My wife likes plants. It works well for me too. She kills everything she touches, so buying her plants never gets old.
|
LOL
If she ever gets mad... pause, then pretend she is a puppy dog, ooshy booshy, you so cute...! |

Hey, I don't kill everything that I touch. It's just a run of bad luck that I've had lately. Her killing plants has been going on for years.
What my wife and I do have in common is a love of fine food and good wine. |

Philosophical..but a valid point...

Well, I got another 20 min run before the #%*@! rain came back. Just more hard street running. Motor did get up to 175, guess it is time to pull the pretty sticker off and put a heatsink on there. Mamba was 155, no fan, so thats not bad. Lipo was just over 100, very nice, this combo sure isn't pulling the amps like the XL's did. In fact, after 20 min (my old run time with XL's), the 5000 mah battery pack still had some left (I'll find out how much when I recharge it). I was hoping to find out what my new run time is going to be, but with rain starting again and temp up to 175 without a heatsink, I figured it was time to quit. Need to get a heatsink before going for run time.

Bruce, I know that 175 is higher than you'd like, but it's still not bad after 20 minutes of what I guess was WOT runs and a lot of pulling wheelies. If that had been on the track, it probably wouldn't have gone over 150. All in all, I'd say it was a successful setup and run.
How was the power? |
Power is great, I couldn't get the front end up with the XL's and now I can. The same "punishnment" with my XL and monster heatsink, would have had the motor at critical mass. Yeah, normal running would be cooler, And I had no heatsink on it at the time. I'm still gonna get a heatsink on it to keep it cool!
Also looks like I put about 2/3 of a charge back in to lipo, I may be able to get 30 min run times with 5000mah! |
bdebde,
I have been playing with a 1930/10 on 5s in my buggy lately and I have to say I'm really liking it too. The thing really ripps. I switched from a 1512/2.5d and quark 80B to the 1930/10 and MM and I feel like it has MORE power. It ran very reasonable temps and I was able to wheelie the buggy which never happened on the old setup. I have run a bunch of different setups in this buggy over the last 5-6 months and this is one feels the best (at least so far). I havent gotten much run time on it yet cuz I had some problems the first time I ran it with a poor soldering job I did and then I was just out basically beating it see If I could make my resodering job fail and then I have been traveling alot the last couple weeks. I really like the 1930 for a buggy so far. So its all in one place, I'll pick up on this post and post my observations with the setup once I get some more run time on it. |
I think if Mike will not be carrying the Lehners anymore, we'll be in some trouble for sure.
|
I hear he sould be getting "some" soon.
|
Oh, Mamba settings were at defaults for all these runs (except lipo cutoff), motor timing normal. I wonder if going to low or lowest on the motor timing would bring temps down further?
