I've been wanting to buy one of these AX10's pretty badly to make a cool crawler. I'm a total newb when it comes to electrics and crawlers so I figured I'd knock them both out at the same time since crawling looks pretty cool.

Ive only got a Savage right now and I'm kinda fed up with it so I wanna do something different.

How is it holding up for you? I've heard it's a great kit!

does anyone know the transmission ratio??

i think this(transmission set) would be sweet in the crt .5 , just wondering if i could gear it for speed, and tower sells the whole trans. for like $42

ClodMaxx 09.25.2007 09:52 PM

according to the latest issue of RCCA, the 3-gear trans uses a stock spur size of 87t and a 14t pinion. this is what they say: '...it offers a wide gearing range. without switching the spur, the final drive ratio ranges from a stump-pulling 55.77:1 to a fairly quick 19.12:1.'

there's no slipper or center diff though...

i guess not as good of an option for the crt.5 as i thought, but may have potential elsewhere, thanks

it could work.... just put a 20T spur on it.

skellyo 09.26.2007 01:43 PM

It's a 2.6:1 gear ratio in the tranny IIRC. With it having no slipper or diff, it'd be a poor choice for use in just about anything but a crawler.

i really like the axial still waiting for mine to come in been on back oder for like forever. going to use a brushless motor an lipo battery for mine can't bring myself to use a brush motor an nickal metal batteries.
