Im kinda afraid to cutoff the Shrink wrap as I can see two PC boards inside, It also seems that the wire is soldered flat to the PC board not through.
...i was thinking that too...I might give it a shot and see what happens...I have a funky little alloy heat sink that fits perfectly too...Ok...I will redo the wires and if it all turns to poo then no problem :surprised:
Hey take some photos of the inside if you can and post'em up or at least email to me, I might end up doing the same this weekend (replace wires).
...will do...I will be putting a review up at E-Savage.com anyway as that is why CC sent it to me :D
So did you ever try to mod the thing or post up a review?
...can i have another weekend? I ended up taking out the stock center diff and replacing it with 'something' and i am a little behind schedule...Apologies...
What did you replace the ctr diff with? An apple? Maybe a picture of a ctr diff?
i think maybe a bowling pin. or a goldfish.
How is everyone liking the castle BEC ?. I popped my koolflight bec & im thinking about getting the castle one.

I will personally try the bowling pin in my mlst, see if that helps the chronic crappy diff issues, thnaks for the idea Clod!
I tried my CC Bec today and like it better than the CCU(cheapo chinese unit) that I had on it before. I only ran it at 6v, but my novak fan seemed to spin faster then the CCU set at 6v. Most likely a better made bec, and at 20 bucks not a bad deal! |
I have been running my CC bec for about a month now in my e maxx and really love it. I have it set up for 6.3v and my fans are probably a little stressed but they are working fine. I have some where around 800 ma constant load and then my high torque servo can bring that up to around 2 amps at 5v. Nothing to heavy but for 24 at my LHS it is the best bec around.
I still have mine laying around, might toss it in my crawler along with the outrunner brushless I picked up. :mdr:

Looks like a little ESC!
Mine have been running flawlessly. The only issue I have now is my servos overheat from the full power flow. |
