Mike - NP let me know when I can place the order - I'll take it hot off the CNC!

RC-Monster Mike 10.31.2007 05:59 PM

Roger that - if things go as planned, Thursday or Friday will be the day I prototype the 1st Mugen mount. They should be good to go and listed by Monday on the site. :)

Yay! The new mount you have up looks nice - Will the mugen be the same with an servo & esc/rx mount?

Arct1k 11.02.2007 01:55 PM

So So close!!!

HummerMan 11.02.2007 05:28 PM

Mike, what kind of diff is required for this mount? The Kyosho diff?

RC-Monster Mike 11.03.2007 07:54 AM

Ultimately, the mount kit will include a servo tray for sure - the rx mount portion depends on how it all fits. :)

The mount will utilize the stock diff m_podt.

But with the Mugen diff you can't use the Kyosho plastic spur. Or isn't that the hot setup anymore?

nl12 11.03.2007 10:33 AM

you can use a msr spur gear adaptor and a ofna 51 t spur.

You could implant the entire Hot Bodies LSP center Diff setup(spur and center bulks with the LSP mount) if you wanted, but then you wouldn't need a Mugen mount at all.
The idea is to make a motor mount for the Mugen itself - using the entire Mugen diff and front center bulkkhead with one of our hardened pinions. No need to buy anything else - just the motor mount and hardened pinion. The whole Hot Bodies diff and plastic spur setup is a "work around" when not using a hardened pinion.

The Mugen mount will allow you to use all the Mugen parts instead of transplanting parts from other vehicles. Same idea as all the rest of our mounts. :)

Thanks to my MBX-5R, I guess..;p

Mike - Looking good for today - my F5 key is wearing out and your site sits will be doing very well!

Cheers

Purchased! Another 150 at RCM!

Caution on new mugen mount - A few issues with the mount at the moment on my MBX5T....

1) The lower mount screw holes weren't long enough - Easily enough to recitify with cutting down the screws
2) The holes that the servo mount slots into weren't quite big enough - Easy fixe by enlarging the holes by running a 4.5mm drill bit in for a minute
3) The motor mount adjustment isn't wide enough - The truggy has a 62t spur - I can't get any pinion on... The mount need to be much wider. - Stumped!

I've attached some pics below:

Your spur gear problem is because you have the truggy conversion - not the actual MBX5T. They come with a 46T spur.
