Don't overrate that bigmaxximum.. on 3S lipo it would be a bad choice of a motor too

Dafni 07.12.2005 05:55 PM

On a Jato I would put a Lehner Basic XL or a Wanderer L (or S) and use the BK Warrior. And this would already be enough, with just 7 or 8 NiMH's. In fact I think this would be a bit too much.
No need for a Big Plett in this truck, really.

Serum 07.12.2005 06:09 PM

The big is not efficient at those low voltages..

Dafni.. You reserved you.... Just throw in a 10-12 pack of the GP2200's and load it with an XL4200... can you say f a s t c a r...

Dafni 07.12.2005 06:14 PM

Sounds impressive. But it's still a 2wd truck. Would be insane, and hard to drive, I think.

4wd is better for serious BL conversions, in my opinion.

Serum 07.12.2005 06:18 PM

Totally agree, 2wd is nice for fun, but everytime i run my mamba 8K on my mini-t with the 3S lipo i get reminded of this unstable behavior of the 2wd vs the 4wd..

Though an MT is not the thing to throw in the biggest BL setup either.. But you can at least TRY it.. ;)

Are you suggesting On-Road RC to me?

Have you ever seen those 1/8 on road nitro cars, the ones with those Lola bodies?? They are wicked fast (even on nitro LOL). They have belts and a 2-speed, and top out at about 80mph with insane acceleration.
Now this would be a challenge, would definitely turn some heads.

Serum 07.12.2005 06:29 PM

I smell a nice object to play with..

I dont know what you mean with the lola body?
Though i do like the offroad too much to invest in the onroad..

I meant with TRY it, to try a BIG setup on an MT

Look here:

I also like off road better, for serious on-road you need a decent track, and some friends who have similar cars.

How Big, Rene? Big as in Lehner 22XX??

crazyjr 07.12.2005 07:41 PM

thanks for the ideas, but what i want to know is, Is anybody thinking about making a gearbox for the jato that would move the position of the gears so that one could put the motor in a standard stadium truck position(like rc10,losi) so that weight would be better balanced?

squeeforever 07.20.2005 04:44 PM

not likely

Serum 07.20.2005 04:58 PM

The thoughts are there... Though there are so many things to make and try! the Jato is not very special to make BL.. i personally would prefer a 4wd with BL..

squeeforever 07.20.2005 06:15 PM

not to mention a 4wd will most likely handly alot better on the track than a 2wd.

crazyjr 07.21.2005 01:29 AM

You could use a basic 5300 and mgm 8012 with the two speed for a wicked top end and bottom end to spare
