Could you tell me why?? What's difference that runing the Auto tuning can help with the LVC issue?

The only thing i can suspect, is the LVC on somes MGM version that are different, maybe set at 3.2 to the place of 3.1, and with cheaper li-po pack, the LVC kick in sooner. But with high end pack like Flightpower, i suspect that the problem will be present when the batterie will be at half of the capacity:neutral: |
running the auto setup does nothing for this. I do run it, and it has helped other issues, but not this one.

I suspect it is the batteries, the LVC will trigger when I'm on it hard. If I don't run WOT then it doesn't trigger the LVC.
My guess is that under heavy load (e-maxx running 5S, weight 12lbs) that the voltage dips low enough to trigger this problem. If it is not the batteries, then the MGM is triggering it too soon. |
I found the auto tune to help.
I had 2 of these and a 16024 at one piont. I still have one of the 16018s. All 3 were the same with regard to this. They are slightly quirky, but if you set it up right they are great. Notthing runs cooler or smoother. The Auto Tune sequence is meant to give the controller the operating parameters for it to work within and really helps the brakes, and I have also found that it also helps the LVC to be a little less sensitive. Aslo when I was running into LVC quirks, I had the motor spool up set to the lowest possible setting. I found running at the stock setting or even one setting slower spool up really made a huge difference in the LVC also, and fianllay making sure you are running high quality pack makes a difference too. The the way the LVC calculates the cut off voltage in the MGMs is a little different than most other controllers. I read about it in the instructions that came with the controllers and its all a little confusing and I certainly dont completely understand it, what I gathered from it is: Its not just a hard number that it cuts off at. It is done by calculating voltage drop under load vs at rest. I suspect that the auto tuning run allows it to calculate a base line for the cut off, so not doing the auto tune give it no base line and probably leaves it at a some sort of default. I wish the instructons did a better job of explaining what all of the setting do and especially how the LVC is calculated. Anyway, this is just my experience, I may be off base. I just know that I was able to tune these issues out in my setups without to much trouble. Just try it. I made a difference for me. |
