I found a dry parking lot last night for some testing. Too dark to get any video unfortunately. I ran the E-Maxx with 2x 2s6000mah MaxAmps packs, near fully charged. I'm still getting cogging on startup, especially in 2nd gear I have to start very slowly. Once rolling it pulls well. Looks like 35 - 40 MPH to me. I tried a couple times to pull rolling wheelies, it was having none of it. Decent acceleration but it really didn't seem to have the torque I was expecting. I'll try playing with the controller settings, I'm not really familiar with the Quark yet. No doubt it would be faster on 6s but so far I only have one 3s pack and I've been warned :whip:about more toy shopping before Christmas.

Ummmm, something isn't set right.

Set the Quark to these settings:

Battery Selection: Manual
Lipo Cutoff: 3.0 volts per cell
Motor Type Selection: Inrunner
Torque Selection: Dynamic Initial Torque

If you still experience cogging with these settings, increase the Neutral Range one step.

These are the settings in the setup that REALLY affect how the motor runs. The other settings are entirely up to you.

On Battery Selection, if you have it set to anything other than "Lipoly High" or "Manual", the quark will limit the current it feeds to the motor thinking that it's protecting your batteries by not drawing too many amps. Your Lipo's are up to this task for sure.

Motor Type Selection. I know the Quark has an "outrunner" setting, but the inrunner setting works MUCH better.

Torque Selection: Anything other than Dynamic Initial Torque is like "Soft Start". Low starting power will cog alot on take off.

I'm sure it was the dynamic torque setting that was wrong. The default is soft start. Now its got good power, more like what I was expecting. Still getting some cogging from a dead stop but much more driveable. Pulled a few wheelies. Stopped running when I dropped a driveshaft pin and lost my rear drive. Now that it works I'll go through and loctite everything.

I finally got some actual bashing time in on the E-Maxx. I have to say I'm really impressed with the outrunner system. I was jumping some 3 ft snow drifts at the edge of a parking lot. Worked great, very controllable.

I came in to do some waterproofing before it was too late. Unfortunately, as I was bagging the esc, I noticed that my upper chassis cracked right at the bellcrank mount. I know exactly which hard landing was to blame too!

Any thoughts on a good replacement?

A nice simple & cheap replacement is to use a T-maxx chassis:

Its much stronger than the stock plastic item, and very cheap- just requires about 4 holes to be drilled for velcro battery straps or whatever. Other than that, the FLM chassis is nice and very durable too.
