Will this bike be remote controlled or will you actually sit on it?

There are a bunch of E-bike forums that have spread sheets on them to calculate run time, distance, and top speed. Believe it or not, the top speed predicted by the spread sheets is 73mph at 4000 watts and 82 mph at 5000 watts. :intello: Anyway, this bike will be geard for 55 mph. I highly doubt I will want to go any faster than that! Oh, with 12s 10,000 mah, this thing should go 30 mph for nearly an hour on a charge! Matt |
I want a BL street kart, but a off road kart would be awesome too....... But who knows what you would do for batts lol....
A bike would be sweet, could you pm me, or post some links to those sites? |
Im guessing you will be using some kind of servo tester as the throttle?... I've always been interested in those- my lazer 6 radio has a dial that is used to control one channel (wing flaps on a plane), but it could easily be used as the throttle channel, like a cruise control feature for constant speed.....
|
Yes, I will be using an Astro Flight servo tester to drive the ESC.
I will post some links for you tonight or tomorrow. Matt |
Still Waiting for those links Matt-- LOL
Matt
That motor is a generous helping of power -- without a lot of legal tender out of pocket. :great: As far as those links go, can you post one or two about the E-bike forums? Got any more photos? N |
I would use some sort of kill switch so if you some how fall off the bike or crash the bike will be cut of power
|
You should put training wheels on the bike, use a receiver, and use a servo for the steering. That would be hilarious watching a push bike go down the street with no rider. Imagine the looks it would get

Hey Nic! Great to see you on this board! I think everyone here knows who you are. :mdr:
This is the place to be for brushless info, that's for sure. I do plan to have a safety on the bike, maybe a tether cord or someting. Matt |
Fun
WOW:gasp: that looks like it would be a lot of fun to put in just about anything. My 12 year old son has been wanting me to build something that we saw in a car show, and that motor would be perfect for it:yipi:. It is a beer cooler on wheels that the driver rides around the car shows on handing out beer to his friends. His only goes about 10MPH though:whistle:. I bet this thing would do much better. Please keep us informed of how this works out for you. It really is interesting:yes:. Thanks Guy.

Did You mean something like this..................LOL You can make a "Chopper version" & go really Fast....... |
Cool Stuff.
How funny is that. It looks a lot like the one we saw in California last year, but the one we saw was baby blue in color that matched his show truck. But yes that is what I am talking about. I was thinking about it on my way home from work after posting that thought, and it occured to me that maybe having my 12 year old doing more than 10MPH on a beer cooler might not be such a good idea. Of course it would probably be the first beer cooler that requires riding gear and a helmet:rofl:. I do believe that it is a project that we will take on when we arrive at our next post in the fall. So that AXI motor might be just the power source that we need.
|
there is actually a 150watt 380 sized motor in that thing;
which means more room for beer.. |
Beer??
Did someone say BEER? I was thinking that I have to set a good example for my son, so it will have to be Rootbeer in that cooler:lol:. Wow only a 380 size motor in that thing. I guess it is all in the gearing now isn't it? With something like that AXI installed, and with the right gearing in it that thing I bet it will probably pull wheelies and move pretty well. I am looking forward just to getting to the build when the time comes. Anyway I still have 3 other projects to finish right now, before I even start to think of starting another one. My wife is already asking me when we can go racing. So I need to get hot.
