the LMT 2280 on 12S is able to push it without a problem... I had a 26cc Sikk City modified to 7.5 HP... and for brushless... to match the power/speed of a Gas 7.5HP you probably only need 3000-4000 Watts....

Just for the heck of it... I'm gonna put a KB45 on 12S 25C 3700mAh into my Firehammer and see how well it performs... I'm only say this because my 12XL is able to push an 18Lb Monster truck without a problem.. and the baja is about 21 Lbs... my Firehammer is 21Lbs as well..

Do you guys have any idea what pitch the 1/5 scale uses?...

you know i seen some rtr brushless 1/5 scales the other day. i think carson or carlson or something like that was building them. cheap too. ?$800 or somewhere close to that. they had a buggy and a onroad car. anyway, i'm posting this because they may have your pinion you need.

Why not take a smaller car and use the elecs? Like a 1:7 4wd. Alot cheaper and more fun lol. So aqwut are you actually saying you have that big outrunner in a firehammer?

I waited until this link was working: http://www.megamotorsusa.com/Brushle...-50.htm?id=642

What a work of art. I might just go for it.

How much does a baja weigh without the engine and gas tank

zeropointbug 01.15.2008 10:30 PM

Personally, I have recently calculated the approx. cost (not including little odds and sods) to built a Baja buggy with enough reliability, runtime, and power... the cost came to over $3000. This is using such components as a Neu 2230, a decently sized A123 pack that would have at least 7000watts capability, i can't remember which controller I priced in, but expensive none-the-less.

In time, I might attempt one of these... and when I have more 'surplus' budget.

It would be a sight for sure!

It's in the process of going into the firehammer... I need to build a special mount for both ends of the outrunner shaft to compensate for the vibration and bounce when jumping....

hi

i have thought of converting one of my large scale models too for some times.
personally i had thought of a 3040 lehner or the bolido with the big schulze and a small watercooling system. in contrast to the nitro models the cheap gasoline for the largescale makes it harder to convince onself that it such a great idea to go electric. furthermore one of the features i like most with the big models is their runtime of 40min with one tank. so i guess i would want the electric car also have runtimes around 30min. that takes quite some batteries.
however i have abandoned the idea so far. but who knows. to see my fg mt going as agressive as a bl savage or stampede would sure be awesome though.....

bye
