I too think that there are some cheaper alternatives to neu motors, especially if you are willing to run 5s lipo or more. On 14 cells I would try to gear for about 35, when the 2 speed comes out for the new emaxx it will up the speed and allow for even lower spur/pinion ratio. For the cheapest setup, run a feigao 15l and a bk 9920. Not sure who carries the 9920 but you can usually get the 15l from United Hobbies/Hobby City. I have an old emaxx running this combo on 5s lipo and it is great, stays cool too. Just my 2 cents though.

The 8xl and MM will work well on 4s lipo. Pick up a pair true rc 8000 2s lipos and a decent charger, mrc 989, and the mm and 8xl and you will have the whole setup for about the same as the neu and mgm combo. Probably cheaper.

Suicideneil...Thanks for the help in getting me registered. I don't know what went wrong there.....

I bought an ICE charger when I picked up the EMAXX. I'm thinking maybe I should just to to lipos as lincpimp suggested, pick up the MM, an 8xl, a BEC, and a motor clamp and sell the EVX-2 and Titans on EBAY. I'll be out about $300 when it's all over and I'll have an extra set of batteries. If I want more later, I can make changes. At least I want have so much tied up in equipment if I do screw it up....I'm known to do that from time to time.

You can't go wrong with the mm and 8xl, less than 200 if you really shop around. Plus you can recoup some money by selling the titans and the evx on ebay. I would suggest the trakpower lipos, they are very good. I upgraded my maxamps 5000mah 2s lipos to them and am very happy. The ICE is a great charger, I have one also and use it frequently. You can wire the 2 2s lipos in series for a 4s lipo and charge and balance it like that too. Ask Briang and he can advise you on a charge/balance adapter that will work.
