I've started my brushless career with a Kontronik 480-42( similar to a lehner 4200 basic) in a B4 with 10 cells and the results were addictive. Brushless is nitro's most feared nightmare.

I can easily get my hands on a 5800 but is that gonna be better then 2 550's? Seems like 5800s are only good in smaller cars , no?

@elite;

the two 550's are stronger than one SS5800, it is a too light setup for the truck..

Shadow350Z 09.10.2005 03:40 AM

i say start browsing ebay for a used HV
=)
hey my HV keeps me happy
nice speed and torque
and its a perfect motor for me since i dont really have much running space

coolhandcountry 09.10.2005 08:31 AM

No running space sucks. No offense shadow. Every now and then you need to stretch it out.

Shadow350Z 09.10.2005 11:55 AM

i know
but i still have fun running only first gear lol

come to find out ....the HVMAXX wont fit...I cant get over it! Im sooooo upset!

Im told its to long, and the motor hits the chassis plate.....

I wanted a cheap BL setup...that seemed to be my answer, NOW WHAT?

Any ideas?

starscream 09.12.2005 01:28 AM

The HVMaxx is only 55mm long.
How long are the stock motors?

If it won't fit then your gonna have to modify the motor plate or make your own to mount it up top gorillamaxx style.

Gustav 09.12.2005 04:01 AM

Might it be possible to file/dremel the chassis plate/TVP to make clearance. That would be the simplest fix if it's possible.
I'm suprised it won't fit,it's not a long motor at all, have you measured?

Sounds like you'll have to make clearance for any motor you chose. I doubt there'd be much material to remove since it's a short motor anyway.

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 09.12.2005 04:59 AM

Not sure if all 550 motors are the same or not, but I measured a Titan @ 57mm, 2mm longer than the HV. Interesting.
The e-zilla does have 550's right?

coolhandcountry 09.12.2005 08:20 AM

The hv maxx i have is 73 mm long form mount point to end of the plastic cap. It is not that short of motor.

elite3ge 09.12.2005 10:02 AM

hmmm

are there 2 hvmaxx - one being 57mm and the other 73mm?

coolhandcountry 09.12.2005 10:06 AM

How long is your motor elite? I only know of one hv maxx. You may have to go with a L motor.

elite3ge 09.12.2005 12:33 PM

ok I quickly measured it, 2.25 inches so around 57mm. I have prob another 1/2 clearance...its not much though....wtf hot bodies.......didnt anyone over there think people would want to go BL!!!??

coolhandcountry 09.12.2005 12:45 PM

Apparently they didn't want you to put a big motor on it any way. Can you move anything or just have to run a shorter motor? Got a pic. I try to help you any way i can. May have to get the L version.

elite3ge 09.12.2005 01:12 PM

L version?

here is what i could find...its someone elses pic......but youll get the idea...

Basically what im readin is everything else fits but bottom line the motor can is to long!

coolhandcountry 09.12.2005 01:35 PM

A fiegao L version. It is shorter than novak. I can't see to much in pic. I think I see but not sure. Can you remove what it is hitting. Maybe a touch of material off.

Serum 09.12.2005 02:44 PM

If you are planning on dropping the HVmaxx and get the Faigao L size, the 10L would be my choice...

kid tt-01 09.01.2006 05:45 AM

Hi, just found this forum. I to own a ezilla. the HVmaxx motor isnt a direct fit you have to cut a bit of the main plate for it to fit.
