Hmmm, the wife just bought herself a new sony digital camera. I will have to see if it has a vid feature?!

Glad to hear that your driving has improved Sike. I was just pickin' on ya.

I will have to jazz up my vids somehow. I have a giant infatable d*#k (not duck, if you catch my drift) costume that would look really funny if I was driving an rc while wearing it. Maybe just stick to the pimp costume?

I'm sure it does have a vid feature.

Please do NOT tell us why you have a giant inflatable costume of that nature. I am afraid if you told me I would go blind from reading it.

Well Jeff, since you asked...

Was a gag we did at a halloween party a few years ago, same year I dressed as the pimp. Really good for a laugh, especially the pic of us all hugging it!

See there you did not go blind.

Did some more toying with the gtp this weekend. Swapped out the front shocks for a set of revo shocks with the orange springs. I also fooled with the rear shocks and the droop screws to get the rear suspension firmer and with less travel.

Also swapped out the kb 45 10l for a kb 45 8l. Picked up a bit of speed that way. I am also going to try 5s2p a123 instead of the 4s lipo.

Had a slight issue, I destroyed the front diff! Not sure what happened, but the car did a complete front flip at about 40mph, and landed back on the wheels! The ring gear had a few teeth missing and I guess that they locked the diff up and caused the flip. I ordered a few spares today, and should have it on the road again next weekend. I need to put revo shocks on the back, and start to tune it, the orange springs may be too soft.

I also have a new speed project, but that will be for another thread!

The Ofna Belted tires (slicks and street treads) are awesome, but a little more $. I personally like the street treads the best of all street tires I have tried. Belted for no balooning from the factory so they handle awesome and they also have great traction.

The GRP Rally tires were great too IMO, but it appears that they have been discontinued. :grrrrrr: That sucks. I used them all the time for parking lot oval. They were a great mix of traction an wear life.

I have a set of these that are ok. Espescially for the cost $31 for a set of 4 mounted. But the sidewall is a little taller so they are not as precise feeling as the lower sidewall tires I listed above. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/17912

Guys on the Inferno Gt forum rave about Twister Tires. Seems they are only available here. They get a batch in every few months or so then sell them out in about a week.

Good news is that Losi/Horizon will now be distributing the GRPs. These should be available in a couple weeks.

Those slicks are good for one thing... drifting!

Linc - How did the 5s2p a123's work out?

I have not had a chance to try that yet. I made my 10 a123 cells into a pair of 2s and 3s packs. I could rig them all together, but that may be too much trouble, and will not fit in my current battery tray. I may try to get 10 more cells, and make a pair of 5s1p packs, but then I would not have a charger. I could make a 2s2p and a 3s2p pack, but not sure if the hypersonic charger can handle a 3s2p pack. I am sure that it can, as it can do 3s1p, and a 2s2p pack.

I am not sure if a 5s2p pack of a123 will outperform a pair of trakpower packs in series. They are 25c 4900mah, while 2p of a123 is 20-30c? and 4600mah.

Anyone care to guess what battery setup is better? I know the a123 cells drop voltage under load, and 2.8v per cell seems to be what this setup would drop them to in a 2p config. So about 14v with the 5s2p a123 pack, and something similar, maybe a bit lower, with the trakpower lipos. the 5s2p pack of a123 will be heavier than the lipos though...

Any ideas or thoughts???

BL_RV0 07.22.2008 12:38 PM

I'd guess the lipo's would be better, because of the weight. Also had an idea- make a thread in the GD forum for a camcorder fund for you?
