Ok.. the Mod’s continue (sue me) :na:
Here I’ve got a before and after shot of my spur gear, since I couldn’t find one black "mod 1" to use with my current setup, I simply made it black Via Dye. I think it turned out ok?? And it allows me to run a 52/24 combo..

I'm taking any suggestions in-regards to proper gearing combination?? If you have any recommendation fell free to toss them my way..

I have a t-maxx and have changed it two times...stock, installed the Dynamite.28 kit, and now brushless...(almost done). For me it almost as much fun to upgrade these trucks as it is to run. Now, when I am finished w/ my upgrade, I won't have to wrench on it as much!

I installed what I thought were upgrades to make it "bomb proof", in reading these forums, my perspective on "bomb proof" has drastically changed and so have my upgrades...my point is if you REALLY want to have fun, you need to pony up the cash for the best of the best and then and hopefully then...no worries!!! IMOP:lol:

ChriZtoffer 04.18.2008 09:56 AM

That's a really sweet ride! :mdr: Looks a little like mine. I hope you will be having really fun with it, at least you should!

.

I think that’s probably a good start. It seems high initially when coupled with the Emaxx 2nd gear and 1/8 diffs, but when you combine it with that low KV Neu motor barely turning 30k on 6S, I think you could probably run whatever gearing you want and not have to worry about excessive heat.

Gee 04.18.2008 04:10 PM

Man that is nice Shawn. Every time I go through your build I keep thinking I should of did that too. Looks like it going to be damn tough with the diffs you got. I used some lexan under the motor on my g3r also. I have the mm so it doesn't fit under the motor but it close to it. I cut a little part out and installed a small fan that blows up from the bottom. Needed it with the Novak but the Neu is running cool. So now it just a hole in the lexan with a fan. I'm on my second stock differential. I wish I would of got the diffs to begin with.......

I'm running 54/26 on my G3R Neu 1515 1/ w/ 4s same tranny but diff are stock. I haven't played much with the gearing once I put those on.

Hey you cannot blame a man for trying.. I know how you feel. I have two rigs that are worth about $3K and two worth about $2500, and I am still working on getting all of the electronics together to make them run well. Thats ok, there are a few guys on here that keep me in stitches, so I like to give back when I can. That is one of my gifts, is to make people spit from laughing. there are a few people on here with that gift, Pimp, Paralyzed, just to name a couple.

Yo Tdc

What a coincidence, my FLM Maxx look almost indentical. Except that I have the GA titanium bulks installed. I still have not painted my body for it yet. Your lucky to have such an event to showcase yout projects and your skills in guilding your toys. I am sure that a lot of the kids will be drawn into the hobby just getting to see such works of art. I bet you cannot wait to get into your next build now that this one is completed. Of course one needs to recover from such a huge loss of blood $$$$. :gasp::rofl::yes::rofl::yes: Good luck at the RCX and give us some good photos of the show since not all of us can attend:eyes:.

TDC57 04.20.2008 02:04 AM

Hay Gentlemen,
The show was fantastic.. RCM booth had such steady flow of traffic that Mike ran out of business cards @ stickers in about two hours after the show started. Fast-Lane ran out of stickers but had a few business cards left at the end of the day. Mike had to run to Kinko’s a make another 1000 more.. We had the Traxxas both 15’-20’ away and defiantly showed some assume rides!! Huge hit all the way across the board.. Fast-Lane and RCM was a huge hit with the custom crowd and both owners were extremely happy with the all if the positive feedback and the fact that we a steady crowd at our booth all-day. All of the displays at our booth we are big hits! and don’t be surprised if my GEVO is pictured in an upcoming Mag shoot… Nothing big like the cover!! Some where in the back of mag with other builds that where there, but still it was an honor to have it picture taken for it as show piece none the less. (FYI) I’ll be one with geeky guy smiling and holding it up like a proud father.. (Pathetic yes I know!) The owner of Tenko also showed up this afternoon and placed three of this builds on display.. (That was a sweat surprise too).. And another great guy!..

I also spent some time talking with the VP of Traxxas Sales dept (another great guy) about of Traxxas and there upcoming products. After the show we (RCM, Fast-Lane and Traxxas team) sat at the same banquet table during the awards show. We also had Kevin the editor of RC-Action at our table busting jokes and having a great time.. It was totally cool for a no-nothing guy like me to hanging out with the who’s-who of the hobby I love so dearly…

For what it’s worth – Traxxas won three awards at show and received a nice glass trophy!.. Pro-Line won the award of tires, CC won best ESC, Maxx Amps won for best Lipos / Battery., Blaa Blaa, blaaa.

Here are some pictures taken today at the show..

I had a great day! met some awesome people and still smiling now!..

Thanks for your time and have a great day!..

Ps.
Here are some answers to questions I know you’ll be asking!.
Yes Traxxas does have a Wheelie bar for the REVO coming out in a month. The cost there E-Revo should be about $550.00
Yes Traxxas is coming out with an E-Maxx The cost should be about $450.00 and the motor is a Novak (I think).. not sure..
CC will have the MMM out in two-three weeks and the motors I was told are about 5-6 weeks away.
And (Yes) Mike is a really great guy!..

P.S.S.
I also got a Fast-Lane @ RCM shirts and stickers and a CC banner (all free)..

When will castle be making this available to the public? I have a feeling it may sell better than all of their other products, especially by selling a pair at a time! I like the color choice, but some may prefer brunette? Not sure if a redhead model would be very popular?!

Today we salute you, Mr tata photographer at the trade show!

You tirelessly search out the funbags and whip out your trusty camera, just in time to catch them off guard!

Oh Yes You Do!

Small ones, big ones, it does not matter. You are just there to make sure your fellow man gets a birds eye wiew.

I Can See Them From Here!

So crack open a Bud Lite, Master of the Mamories, because without you we would just be staring at booths!

Got a link to you bad BOY?? I’m always looking for pointers

Your diffs sound Cool!!, I'm just running Fastlane Front and Rear Hybrid Bulks
With Hardened Differential and Pinion - From Hot Bodies Lightning PRO. Yours sound much better. Again I love to see the link / shoots.. P.S. how do you like your MSR 8’s shocks? I haven’t had the opportunity to try my out yet.

Actually I just sold my V-Twin concept and another truck for my next build;
http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/i...7/IMG_2144.jpg

I never like to have more than 2 + a build in progress. Got any suggestions for my next upcoming project?? I would really, really like to keep it under 2K if that’s possible??.

Have a great one..

Shaun.

Nice Work.

Yea it sure would have been nice to be there to enjoy the show up front, but thank you tons for sharing your experiences with us here on RCM. I am sure that you must have gotten some good ideas from the show for a future build. It was also nice to see photos of just who we are dealing with at RCM, FLM, & Tekno. It sounds like you are high from your experience there and will probably not come down for a while. Way to go Shaun. Yes I do have the MSR-8's onboard my FLM truck, but I have not had the time to really do any running with them yet. Like most of their gear it sure looks good to me. They match up with the hefty look of the FLM chassis and suspension setup. I have a pair of Dewalt 970's on that one, but I am waiting for a good ESC to run the dual setup. I am thinking about hooking up a Tekin R-1 Pro of maybe the R8X when it arrives, or even the Quark MK-111 if it will run brushed motors, or the MGM 160/24 that is on it's way to me now if it will run brushed motors. I will figure it all out at some point, but there is no rush for me though. I have a big move comming up in July, so it may have to wait until we get to Korea. We should be all settled in there by the end of August.

Thanks for the views and the stories of RCX. Have a good Sunday there as well Shaun. We look forward to hearing your follow up report.

Funny, but you are not the first. All of my friends blame stuff on me. I take the blame, doesn't really matter to me what the ladies think. Plus all chics like porn, I used to have it playing in my house 24/7 when I had pirated dtv. I can fondly remember walking into the living room and seeing 10-12 girls crowded around the tv watching. I think they just do not want their men comparing them to the pornstars. Otherwise they seem to like it.

Thanks TDC for the video, that was pretty cool. Like I said it would have been nice to be there. Any chance anyone can post up the news reports from the event? I noticed that there was a news reporter in the video recording at the same time. It would be neet to see what they had to say about the RCX. Anyway thanks for the update/video report. So how was the second day there? I sure looked like a lot of fun and interesting stuff. There was a lot of hopped up rigs there. Anything new from the manufacturers besides the E-Revo?

TDC57 05.08.2008 03:53 AM

Just a quick update for the team.
I sent my MGM back to manufacture on the 21st of last month and just received an email confirmation that they have send it back to me! The measurements of the ramp are (24”w x 44”l x 12” high) cant wait to lunch it off it.. I know 12’ tall is nothing but hay it’s a start!..

P.S.
The Ramp was a whopping $28 bucks and fits in the trunk in my car.. Look out local parks here I come.. for that cheep of price I will pick up another one so I jump it going and comming.

P.s.s.
The ramp is really well constructed! and should provide a fun time for many jumping’s. I'm already thinking of how I can get it too 16" high..
