PS : Does the MMM come with male 6.5mm connectors ? I'm kind of worried 'cause I didn't think to order any.

It's On. I think they do come with the connectors as well. I just bought extra to be on the safe side.

The MMM comes with bullets for the motor and also comes with the castle link. I just ordered some more for spares as the only other place I have seen apart from CC that sells 6.5mm bullets is Tower

tha5150 05.06.2008 10:24 AM

i am kinda P'd off right now. i was the 2nd to order and you guys already have shipping info???!!!! i havent been charged yet...

Edumakated 05.06.2008 10:58 AM

Me too.... I ordered around noon on the first day and still haven't heard anything. Knowing my luck, they probably lost my information or something.

I'm feeling that way. I ordered @ 10am EST 9am Central, on day 1. I am going through major Revo withdrawal looking at it sit in the corner of my den every night smelling of fried Quark.. lol

JThiessen 05.06.2008 11:09 AM

I succumed to fate last night night and ordered mine through Tower (couldnt resist with the $20 off coupon). Wonder how long till their orders are filled....oh, well, I got time.
To start, I'm just going to run it with my old trusty Fiego 10L, and I'm still only running NiCd.
Just for clarification, this does not require a U-Bec, correct?

tha5150 05.06.2008 11:13 AM

i just called, after 20 min of ring ring ring ring ring they finally picked up. said they are doing all they can. unfortunately i am hungover, brain wasn't working or i would have asked why people ordered last week and have the shipping info and i was the 2nd one and i haven't heard anything....

guess its just life.

Correct, the Castle BEC is built in.

finfin 05.06.2008 11:45 AM

sorry. what is the 1st day for pre-order?

DickyT 05.06.2008 11:50 AM

it has come and gone, it was April 21st, though April 30th.

joeling 05.06.2008 12:01 PM

I got an email from CC saying that they have shipped a package to me. If they managed to ship it out using my desired shipping option, we're looking at 1 week eta my place. This is mind boggling indeed. Time to work hard on cleaning my savage to accommodate the Monster.

Joe Ling

You should call rather than gettin P'd off. :intello:

DickyT 05.06.2008 12:29 PM

I just spoke with Christy, she said she is doing the best she can to get them out as soon as possible. the apparently are not doing FIFO (first in first out) but did confirm tat she had my order and billing information! the Revo will only sit for another ???? amount of days!

Maybe it is time to pull the fried Quark out of it and throw it away since I seem to not be able to get any type of service on it.

Hat's off to Castle for their great support, at least I feel comfortable knowing that if I have an issue with the Monster it will have a place in the US to go to that has a great reputation.

My revo has eaten 2 esc's so far, lets see if this Monster is up to the task!

Now I just have to wait for round 2 of these, when retailers have normal stock to buy one from Mike as well to have as a spare or perhaps another project.

Joe Ford 05.06.2008 12:40 PM

Be sure to send us videos of what you guys do with these!

Well, if you're just gonna throw it away, I'd take it off your hands. Might make a nice little project.

A switching regulator is built in. We unfortunately couldn't put the CC BEC in there. 5.5v fixed output I believe.

Including the ones where the MMM bursts into flames? Not knocking the product by any means, it's just that some of the people here are, shall we say, a "little" hard on their equipment.

Just curious, are you using an integrated IC solution like most of the ones on the market (something like the LM2596), or is the circuit similar to the CC BEC?

bruce750i 05.06.2008 01:05 PM

Sounds like last in, first out. I ordered just the 6.5mm bullets from CC at least aweek ago. I still haven't received a shipping notice. Go figure.

As long as it works with 6s and does not cause heat issues I am sure that it will be fine.

I am looking forward to an esc that does not require any extra wiring to work correctly on 6s. Should make alot of setups look much neater! Any idea of how much this weighs?

DickyT 05.06.2008 03:21 PM

A package was shipped to you on 05/06/2008 via U.S. Postal Service
Shipping Department
CASTLE CREATIONS INC.

Go Castle! now get enough that stores can stock them. I owe Mike one bought form him ;)

And Joe Ling is the early leader. It's not looking good for MTBikerTim and Drift_Buggy.

BrianG 05.06.2008 07:56 PM

lol, sounds like a race! Who's gonna be the first to get one, open it up, and run it?

phatmonk 05.06.2008 08:02 PM

So how many 6.5mm bullet connectors will I need to get my MMM ready for action?Hopefully I will have mine wed. or thurs. It shipped out of KC last night and I live 200 miles from there

MTBikerTim 05.06.2008 08:08 PM

I'm surprised someone doesn't have theirs running already. I suppose by tomorrow morning (my time) some one will be posting pictures and be as excited as a little kid on Christmas morning.

I'll probably be checking back every 5 minutes in hopes that's the case. I wish I could afford one right now :(

Let's just hope that the local postal service don't trip on me. Oh ya, still got to wrestle with customs. 15% for toy parts. Arrggghh...

I think the threshold limit for customs in Australia is AUD400 in the years past. Should be higher now right ? I remember more than 10yrs ago I bought some stuff from the states & had to go to Kewdale to pay customs & collect.

Joe Ling

MTBikerTim 05.06.2008 08:55 PM

Over $1000 gets taxed in Australia. Thats probably the worst thing for the hobby stores over here. No taxes and our postal system is pretty good at getting things through customs quickly.

joeling 05.06.2008 09:13 PM

Hi MTbiker Tim,

I am in the same boat as u are. I'm going to put the MMM in my savage as well. Fried my BK9920 in her first outing after the FLM conversion as I removed the fan (60mm).

Joe Ling

P.M. me your physical address Brian and I'll send you mine. This one went out with a wimper instead of a bang or a smoke show. Put new caps and heatspreader in when it started pulling the "re-boot" thing during races, ran it twice with no issues, on third run truck flipped and it will no longer "push truck". Powers up, programs, barely moves truck. Spreader only epoxied to fets, not case(used paste to test). I'm done with Quarks.............

When do you plan to get your monster? If you have it by this week end and come racing I'd really like to see it. I don't think I told you get, but I think my Feigao is dead. Either that or the ESC. I need to do some troubleshooting. Later!

Yeah, use to be $400 but a few years back (I think it was now) it was changed to $1000. I have had a few parsels opened by customs and the contents checked

lincpimp 05.07.2008 10:00 AM

I was going to use my first MMM as a display model. I like to look at things:wink:

If I like the way it looks I may add a deans plug to it, but I do not plan to actually use it.

 that made me laugh. Mine is getting thrown in a revo plugged into 5s lipo and a Neu 1515 1y and going to try and not blow it up.

lutach 05.07.2008 10:40 AM

I'll be waiting for all the good news from you guys. If the news is good, I'll try a couple.

Apparently CC sent out 60 Monsters on the 1st batch and the next batch will go out tomorrow. Did anyone else get a dispatch date on their invoice? Mine says 15th May
