MetalMan 05.22.2008 09:57 PM

The park there isn't well-suited to airplanes and helis due to lower-hanging power lines.

Nitro cars/trucks aren't a big deal, though, considering that I've done nitro there in the past, BP-Revo has, and another friend of mine has, and probably other people I don't know.

MetalMan: Hyper 8, CRT.5, reversed-tranny Rustler, Savage, support equipment?, directions to get there

TDC57 05.23.2008 04:05 AM

I'll bring one truck GR3 E-Revo and Xray 808 buggy + (two ramps) a portable Weber BBQ and cooler!.. If its ok (with the team??) can I bring my son for Video and marshal duties?? if not (no Worries).. Just thought I would ask the team..

Have a great one..

jnev 05.23.2008 10:43 AM

It would be totally ok to bring your son. I will have to try to drag my brother there as well, as he is a pretty amazing photographer. Hopefully he won't be too lazy...

- jnev: Revo, CRT.5, RC18MT, 1ft tall plastic ramp, shovel
- MetalMan: Hyper 8, CRT.5, reversed-tranny Rustler, Savage, support equipment, directions to get there

rschoi_75 05.23.2008 11:57 AM

rschoi_75: XT8, Jammin X1CR, Crt.5, and maybe a few mini's to play with (depends on what's running at the moment). I'll also have some support equipment as well.

As for food... some stuff to grill since we have a BBQ and some snacks (chips, granola bars, etc...). I can bring more/less if needed. Once we get a head count we can start assigning food/drinks.

Question: will we be relying on our car batteries for our chargers or are there outlets available. I'm assuming no.

Best Regards,
Rich

a little update: It turns out that I have a wedding to go too on the 20th, so the 13th is now the best day for me. lmk if that's a problem for anyone.

Here's a quick list of the support equipment I can bring:
- Ice charger, hyperion eos0610i, and power supply.
- balance tabs for pretty much every lipo + spare blinky balancer
- Random tools, hex drivers, socket drivers.
- misc... oils, glue, basic necessities.
- Spare 12v battery..??? If anyone else has one, that would help. I would have to buy one... but I don't mind since I need one anyways.

jnev 05.27.2008 06:30 PM

Sounds good to me. July 13th it is!! It'd be great if you can bring all that stuff. I know I'll have my superbrain 989 charger and LBA10 balancer, and many misc screws, nuts, and some spare parts. But all these things are stored in my tool box, so its really not a problem what so ever to bring them. And as I said earlier, I will also try to bring a ramp and shovel.

BP-Revo 05.28.2008 12:47 AM

I'll most likely be able to make it. I'll be bringing my G2R and CRT .5 and possibly a Revo 2.5R and Jato 2.5. I doubt I'll be done with my latest project to be able to bring it...

Support equipment for me is a Ice Charger, LBA10 Balancer, a 20Amp Power Supply (so if anyone else just brings their charger they can leach off me), bunch of tools, some spare parts. I'll drive my dad's truck so we can all leach power off of it. I'm sure it'll take forever to drain its battery, and just in case we somehow happen to, I'll bring jumper cables so we can jump it. There's also some plugs at the park, so we should be ok. I'll probably be able to bring a cooler with drinks and some snacks too.

MetalMan 05.28.2008 12:50 AM

Hey Mike, remember those outlets at LeBard?

jnev 05.28.2008 12:55 AM

I just google mapped LeBard park and it is 2.4 miles away or 7 minutes from my relatives house. SCORE!! :mdr:

MetalMan 05.28.2008 01:28 AM

Cool :intello:. I think that's about how long it takes Mike (BP-Revo) to get there as well. It takes me all of a minute, depending on the traffic on Brookhurst.

BP-Revo 05.28.2008 01:44 AM

Yeah I do remember the outlets but I'm not so sure how good it'd be if like 6-10 guys with 1 or 2 chargers each were drawing off just 1 or 2 outlets...

Takes me about 5-10 minutes to get there as well. Its about 1.5 miles away.

TDC57 05.28.2008 11:59 PM

Ok, so it July 13th.. Cool...

Now what time does the festivities begin??

Thanks - Shaun.

jnev 05.29.2008 12:39 AM

Ummm... 10:30 maybe? Or 11:00? Any time would work for me. What does everyone else think?

rschoi_75 05.29.2008 02:02 PM

10:30-11am is fine by me.

Is this the correct park?

MetalMan 05.29.2008 02:27 PM

It most certainly is! The dirt area is behind the tennis courts, and its not pictured.

Arct1k 05.29.2008 02:55 PM

You mean here:

jnev 05.29.2008 06:07 PM

So is it next to the powerlines where we actually drive the trucks?

BP-Revo 05.29.2008 09:05 PM

Yep...under the power lines.

TDC57 05.30.2008 01:33 AM

10:30 works for me and that park is 3.5 miles from my house.. SCORE...

thanks guys...

Have a great one..

MetalMan 05.31.2008 12:57 AM

Hope you don't use an AM radio! Although I've never had a problem with interference.

Shaun, where are you coming from?

TDC57 05.31.2008 01:53 AM

Brokhurst and Ellis..

MetalMan 05.31.2008 12:19 PM

So you were REALLY close to the old SoCal then! I didn't know you lived so close to the HP store as well.

E-Traxxer 06.26.2008 01:09 AM

Hey guys, I'd like to come up to this bash if I can. The only problem is that I may be up in Canada on the 13th. I still have to schedule my return flight ticket, so maybe I can come visit. I'll let you guys know once I schedule my flight back.

jnev 06.26.2008 01:49 AM

The more people the better!

I unfortunately have some bad news... because the MMM's won't be shipping again until mid to late July, I don't know if I'll be able to bring both my Revo and CRT.5. I guess I could if I transfer my MM ESC from my Revo to my CRT.5 during the bash, as both will be running on 4s. I was planning on upping my revo to 6s, but because of the MMM... I'll just have to wait. Unless, someone has a spare 6s capable ESC I could borrow just during the bash...

rschoi_75 06.26.2008 01:25 PM

well.... I have two MMM's on order from mike. If they come in before the bash, you can use one since all my trucks are running fine without them.

jnev 06.26.2008 02:05 PM

That would be great! I also have my MMM coming from Mike. But I'm from batch two, so... I think it'll be a while before CC start shipping them out. It will probably be replacements first, then end of first batch, then 2nd batch...

rschoi_75 06.26.2008 07:20 PM

I think I'm in batch 2 as well.

MetalMan 06.29.2008 12:44 AM

I've got a spare MM I could let you borrow, if need be. It's the MM that got replaced by my MMM .

jnev 06.29.2008 12:52 AM

That would be great Travis! I don't think rschoi will get his MMM in time, so if I can borrow your you MM, that would be great. It will only be for my Revo running 4s. I moved my Revo ESC (MM also) to my CRT.5 and my Mamba system should be back from CC by the time of the bash.

E-Traxxer 06.29.2008 02:00 AM

So I don't think I will be able to make it this time, sorry guys.
Even if can get back here by the 13th, I think I'd need to spend some time with the girlfriend.
Hope everything goes well though, and maybe I can make it to the next one.

TDC57 06.29.2008 03:13 PM

FYI.. I broke my GEVO today  and now I've got to take it completely apart (again) :grrrrrr: I'm not sure if she'll be up and running in two weeks, but I did have the opportunity to complete my other buggy , so either way I'm still showing up to two of something.. If it's out for a while I can send you my MGM Jnev if you still need it?.

Have a great one gentlemen..

BL_RV0 06.29.2008 03:40 PM

Damn.... I can't do the 13th. I'll be in Canada. Woulda loved to bring my Hyper ST though.

E-Traxxer 06.29.2008 04:32 PM

Canadians unite! Haha.

jnev 06.29.2008 05:13 PM

Man, all the guys on here are so incredibly generous. Either ESC is fine by me to use, although I am curious to see how the MGM runs as I have never ran one before... no need to end it to me though. If it is not in use by the Revo by the time of the bash, I will just install it at the actual bash.

Thanks again guys for all the offers on ESC's!

TDC57 06.30.2008 03:15 AM

Hay guys my GEVO is repairable!.. it will be running, I'm sorry jnev you’ll need to go with Travis ESC..

Have a great week gentlemen..

George16 07.09.2008 01:38 AM

Where were you guys when I was stationed onboard a ship (Navy) in San Diego from 91-94 and when I went back there in 2005 :whip::whip:?

TDC57 07.09.2008 04:21 AM

Where were you when I was in Japan from 97-98

How is the weather there anyway (?) I'm trying to have the wife take the kids there for few weeks during the summer (grandma house) but she just wont go..:grrrrrr: she says I’m to immature to be left alone..

Man you have a few friends over and someone “accidently” lights the pool on fire one year and you never hear the end of it :diablo::diablo:

George16 07.09.2008 09:47 AM

I was in stationed in Hawaii during that time frame. What part of Japan were you at?

How did your friends manage to accidentally light the pool on fire?
