I sure hope we will be able to build at the same time as each other. Have a double truggy conversion build thread. We'll call it "MBX5T & Hyper ST Pro Build/Conversion".

What do you think?

Pedebeater 07.09.2008 01:10 PM

Sounds like a killer idea Takedown! I am really lookihg forward to how they compair.

Takedown 07.09.2008 01:14 PM

I sure am looking forward Building them side x side and comparing build difficulty and overall looks and final preformance of both. Wont be able to run mine for a little while after I get it built tho seeing that I need an ESC after that yet.

Pedebeater 07.09.2008 01:17 PM

I am right there with you. I should be getting most of the things for the truggy at the same time. But I will have to wait to buy the MMM.

Takedown 07.09.2008 01:18 PM

Same issue... Have to wait to get the MMM.

This is not going to be a race truggy unfortunatly. There is nowhere around here to race. So it will be just for bashing and speed runs. Should go well with takedowns upcomoming MBX5T.:yipi: I am most likely just going to use this motor untill I gewt around to purchase a medusa. And the motor I am getting now is 1900kv, so it should be well fitted for 5s.

Amesome, hope you guys have fun and can't wait to see the results

Pedebeater 07.09.2008 04:35 PM

Okay, new plan. Hopefully I will be able to do this. I will order the lipo and servo from unitedhobbies. Then order the medusa 36-60 2000kv motor from rc-monster, I will just need to dish out a little more money.

Arct1k 07.09.2008 04:40 PM

Check out the good deal thread - link to a very nice Medusa from a member here... Perfect for 5/6s

Pedebeater 07.09.2008 04:42 PM

ok thank you

BL_RV0 07.09.2008 04:43 PM

I was hoping to get that medusa.... Glad it could go to another forum member though.

Pedebeater 07.09.2008 04:47 PM

Ya, I just looked at it and its sold. Oh well, I was hoping for a 2000kv anyways.

BL_RV0 07.09.2008 05:26 PM

... If you find one in stock, let me know. I can't seem to find one anywhere that I need to order from anyways.... Maybe mike can get one in soon.

Finnster 07.09.2008 05:53 PM

Haha I tried to get a 2000kv 60mm for sale recently too and just missed. Like a pack a sharks we are :)

MetalMan 07.09.2008 07:39 PM

For what it's worth, I opened up my KD36-74 today. It didn't take much force with a hammer against the shaft to pop the rear endbell off - and it's pressed in with epoxy like Feigao motors. Right now there is a crapload of JB Weld on it. The front endbell is actually threaded, but the threads on the cap are slightly too small of a diameter to properly fit into the threads on the can. When the rear endbell is done drying, I'll take some red threadlock to the front endbell.

Pedebeater 07.09.2008 11:18 PM

I just want a good quality motor for once. Thats why I want to get the medusa.

What do ya think?

Pedebeater 07.10.2008 01:53 AM

I was searching the battery section on unitedhobbies and stumbled upon a battery that might be a better match for me. It is a Zipp-H 5000mah 20-30c 5s. Even though it has a lower c rating it actually has the same continuos amp rating and adds 10amps to burst. Is there any sown side to getting this over the 25-35c 4000mah?

Thank you

Pedebeater 07.10.2008 02:42 PM

Untill now I totally forgot about a battery tray. So I will be getting the twin force battery tray. Hopfully it will mount easily...

brushlessboy16 07.10.2008 02:45 PM

Pedebeater 07.10.2008 03:08 PM

brushlessboy16 07.10.2008 04:13 PM

Pedebeater 07.10.2008 10:53 PM

Sorry Ben but I am really looking forward to the hyper st pro. But whoever buys it is gonna get one nice coverted raze.

Takedown 07.11.2008 12:12 AM

Ben I would seriously try selling it on rc-tech.net, their is so much activity on that forum its not even funny. I put my e-maxx up for sale their today at around 2pm and its already on the 3rd page...

Pedebeater 07.18.2008 12:26 AM

Just thought I let you guys know my new plans. If the truck is instock by the end of the month than I should have it ordered by then. I plan to dye the rims and wing blank. Then if I get around to it I will paint the body with black as the main color. I think it will look sweet, how about you?

Thank you,
PB

Arct1k 07.18.2008 06:42 AM

I would avoid the dye and just buy black wheels and wing - It looks good for 10 mins and then as soon as you scratch it up the white shows through...

Pedebeater 07.18.2008 12:32 PM

Thank you, its good to know that. But I will be using the stock ones for a little bit, so why not dye them and get a few pictures? Than when I replace them I will just buy them in black.

Pedebeater 07.19.2008 12:51 AM

New plans, again... I traded some maxamps lipo packs to takedown for his Align 600xl motor, it has about 1650kv being rewound. I will be running 6s lipo with it. Still going for the monster max. Should be interesting.

As you can see my plans change a lot.

Mystro 07.04.2009 02:07 AM

What ended up happeing? Did you finally finish the conversion?
