lind5 08.03.2008 07:44 AM

hopefully your get them into production soon :whip:

i got my mgt rr slipper and spur turning up soon 54 tooth
i have also been told that the lst 2 speed 2nd gear will fit the rr slipper hub. not sure how it would effect the gearing as this seems to be a fair bit bigger 60+ teeth
how would effect the temps of the motor esc and batterys as i am going to be useing the old emaxx transmision on the lst chassis

pinions i have to use are the 16/17/18/and 20 tooth

lind5 08.04.2008 11:59 AM

hi got a second hand emax chassis today so im gonna try mount that onto the top deck of the lst that should give me a base to put the emax transmision and some where to mount the lipos
at least i will be able get it together and then see about getting some kind of alloy chassis made made up to replace stock one whilst weighting for my mamba monster 2200 kv combo :yipi:

Geogenesis13 08.05.2008 01:13 AM

lind5 why aren't you impressed with the revo

lind5 08.05.2008 05:11 AM

hi mate well i built it from scratch everything was new i didnt use a donner car
gmaxx chassis
gmaxx single speed
gmaxx single motor mount
emaxx gearbox
complete metal gears
quark monster pro esc (now cooked)
1515 1.5 motor
3 racing alloy diff cups
3 racing alloy bumpers
integy alloy tie bars
integy alloy skid plates
traxxas cvds (snapped x2)
traxxas red alloy tie rods (snapped x2)
traxxas red alloy steering arms (snapped x1)
traxxas hard anodised pivot balls
rpm wishbones
rpm hubs (piviot ball pulled out x2)
titanium hinge pins
proline 23mm wheel hex (inner pins snapped x?)
proline 23mm 40 series wheels
proline 40 series max mulchers
proline single steering arm

i think thats about

well any way it seems every time i took it out some thing broke on it
and when you have spent this much hard ernt cash it just p****s me off

but i can beat the crap out of my lst and it just keeps going so that is why im now wanting to convert this one

You had a lot of weight on that revo with all the aluminum. That was probably a lot of your issue with breakage. When that much weight moves around at high speed in a truck that size, carnage gets worse. I went through this with my first to maxxes. Adding aluminum everywhere and trying to make it bullet proof, but the more I put on the more problems I had. My 3905 maxx is basically stock except for the BL system and radio and I don't have hardly any problems. If I break a part I replace it with a stock part and go on.

lind5 08.05.2008 03:47 PM

but thats my problem i always have added alloy parts on all my cars
i just like shiny bits
i guess i will have to try and hold off with the lst although its all ready got a couple of bits on
decided to try making my own chassis plate today its getting there looks quite good
although it is alot like mickeymoose's chassis
i just took the emaxx chassis and placed it over the std lst chassis and drew around them ..
i will try to post some pictures soon

TexasSP 08.05.2008 05:30 PM

It's hard, they do look pretty. I have just been through it several times and try to stay stock unless it's a forced upgrade.

lind5 08.07.2008 08:00 AM

ok well this is about as far as i can get without the esc hope you guys like it

yeah im hoping it will be better than the revo conversion
one of them spare mamba max's you have wouldnt go a miss
i could try it with my 7xl on 4s
just to see how it runs
but you no me i do tend to cook esc

  :mdr:

Looks like the rear suspension is on backwards.

yes i have turned it around not for any real reason other than just to c if this will make any diffrence to the weight distribution
its not like its standard any more
if its no good its not much to turn it back again

well spotted

ilpufxit 08.07.2008 09:31 AM

Toe?

Doesn't that mean that the rear is toed out intead of in? Should be different to drive!

no mate the rear hubs havent been changed they have a little arrow to indicate what way they need to go

lind5 08.07.2008 04:46 PM

bl lst conversion nearly finnished

is there any way i can change the title to this thread as im prety much finnished and would like to change it rather than starting a new thread

i would like to no what people think of my conversion as i am proud of what i have done
cheers

TexasSP 08.07.2008 07:38 PM

shoot a pm to BrianG or metalman and they can change it for you.

lind5 08.08.2008 04:23 PM

rate my conversion

hi guys i was wondering what you think to my conversion

i no its not finnished yet i just need a esc (mamba monster)

i will update the pics when it is totaly done and i have done some test runs
hopefully it will be a great basher

some feedback would be great

TexasSP 08.08.2008 06:23 PM

For a homemade job I give it 10 out of 10. It's a really nice piece of work and you should be very proud of it. One of the top LST conversions I have seen period.

nice one mate thanks for your kind words i like to make things myself but they dont normailly come out how i imagine them

but this is working for me so far im hopeing its well ballanced

cant weight to get it tested.....(come on castle :whip:)

brushlessboy16 08.09.2008 07:39 AM

very nice lind! keep us posted

lind5 08.12.2008 04:40 PM

ok got a mambamax on the way just to check out how the truck will run with the new chassis design
i will run it on 4s with the 7xl so im guessing that i need to run my ubec i will remove the red wire from the reciever plug do i need to change or turn off anything in the settings on the max

suicideneil 08.12.2008 05:13 PM

Nope. Just be sure to keep an eye on temps with that motor.

coolrunnings 08.12.2008 06:19 PM

A buddy of mine has an lst and wants to go brushless and I'm tying to advise him but dont know where to begin. Maybe he could get a muggy chassis plate for his truck do you guy's think it will bolt right up?

mickeymoose 08.12.2008 08:44 PM

Great job lind5, looks a little familiar lol, mount the esc as far rearward as posible for the best weight distribution, I mounted mine to the rear shock tower. Setting the motor timing to the lowest setting seems to help with the temps. I'm running an 8XL and setting the timing to lowest seemed to help it stay pretty cool.

The front and rear assemblies would bolt up, but you would still need the center diff. A couple other things are different too. The shocks and shock towers on the muggy are shorter. The diffs are different ratio (muggy 4.09, lst 3.3) which could cause a pain with gearing if switching to center diff with lst diffs F - R. In fact I have a LST2 i am working on with a muggy center diff and I am using the muggy F and R diffs.

coolrunnings 08.13.2008 02:15 AM

Ok I will look into it. I might order sum muggy instructions and see what can be done. Also I could get some muggy diffs off ebay. and the taller towers might work ok.

bdebde 08.13.2008 01:07 PM

You can download the manual from Losi. You could probably get by with the shocks and towers, but the diffs would make gearing choices tough.

I really don't know what the top speed is, the calc. says in the low 30's (mph). I run with a bunch of guy's that have nitro revo's, mosly 3.3's, and they get me by just a little on a long straight, but I run them over coming out of the corners. Gotta love the torque of brushless power.

there is quite a bit thats diffrent with the muggy i looked at mine last night i would have thought that it would be easier to to just get a motor mount and mikes pinion addapter
or even just build a new top chassis plate it was easier than i thought it would be but i do own a scroll saw a bench sander and a drill press

keep us posted mate.................
