You get a tiny bit of spray right after you build them as the excess is thrown out (if you don't wipe it really clean), but I've never had mine leak after that.
I was always impressed with the diffs. They were quite a bit beefier than the ones in my Revo lol. |
IIRC, there was a batch that had issues with the o-ring or gasket, and it would leak. Subsequent kits didn't have that problem. Maybe call your LHS and see if they've heard of this and what exactly to replace.

I received my stuff from Impakt yesterday (had to pay 90€ extra on customs -damn).
So I now have a Medusa 3300 but I noticed that the 5mm shaft is round and has no flat piece for the grub screw. Did yours also come completely rounded? So I need to replace the chassis, install the motor and my new Traxxas All Star wheels + Anaconda tyres. Still have to do the body. Concerning the diffs : I'm going to put Green Slime around the O-rings and maybe on the inside if the diff gear where the gaskets sit to prevend further leaking. Would this affect the diff action ? |
Green Slime (or any other "heavy" grease) on the o-rings and gasket is a good idea, and won't affect performance.

Well finally been able to finish the car.
Here are some pics. So I'm running a Medusa 3300 with MM and an Hitec 5245Mg on the Ofna extended chassis. Current diff oils 1000 rear - 7000 center - 3000 front. I'm starting with a 12T together with a Maxamps 6000 7.4v. Have several pinions up to 20T. I also have 2 3-cell lipo's (1800 and 2200 mah). What runtime can I expect ? I'm going to change the springs to blue up front and white in the rear. I'm also going to try to make an undertray to protect the chassis and keep debris out of the chassis. |

I did not yet manage to make an undertray for my crt, but I did put on some skids to prevent dirt coming into the chassis.
Also put some skids onto the rear arms. I'm also looking at shock socks. Any idea where I can find this elastic material cheap ? I'm alos using one of these lipo's : FullyMax 2200 11.1v (35c/60c burst). I like the dimensions of it 26.2 x 35 x 102 http://www.fullymaxusa.com/ I would like some more mah but with more or less the same size. Any ideas ? |
