Hi Joram, very nice truck!! I was just the other day trying to make a small part, and was trying to think of other parts i can replace with the green acrylic for my truck! hehehe Is it 6mm or larger??

I am curious as to your steering servo tho - it looks as if you havent made the hole yet for it in the pictures, or do you have a sneaky trick up your sleeve?

Joram 10.20.2008 03:49 AM

The acrylic is 3mm from ACRYAN, pc stuff:rofl:

I haven't made the hole for the servo because i know how big it is but not where the servohorn must be for locating the servo. Because when i make the hole for it, maybe it's not at the right place for the horn:wink: And then i have to make another one:tongue:

I made today a fan for the motor, it is originally a 7cm pc fan:) It works on 12v , lots of cooling power.

danhfvcsd 10.20.2008 06:26 AM

haha! I assumed it was thicker because u mentioned the 24kg servo =)

The fan is interesting... custom, or original mounts mate?

I also notice you have raised the motor mount plate... how high have you raised it, and are the spacers only on the screws? I was considering this also to make room for my packs, but was unsure if i should make up a whole 'plate' or just use some spacers on the 4 mounting screws...

Joram 10.20.2008 08:58 AM

I'm gonna strenght the plate with aluminium on the underside, because a 24.5kg servo has a lot of power;)

The spacers are only on the screws, i used very long ones wich i had. The ones who come with the kit are too short for that. You see that i used 2 shorter ones because you can't see there any fitting.. I'm gonna use there too longer ones but i have to buy them.

Just use spacers, is too very suitable for cablemagement... as you can see with the fancable.

Joram 11.01.2008 12:50 PM

so, made a lipo decision and i buy this one at the LHS in about a month!

did you measure to make sure that battery will fit Joram? I had the FP 5s 5000mah and with the shims in to make the chassis wider and a 1515 with 18t pinion it was a perfect fit and no room for another cell. not saying it wont work for sure just saying measure before you spend all that money to make sure.

Joram 11.03.2008 09:36 AM

it will fitt:

http://www.flightpower.be/eshop-prod...0-6S1P-4500MAH

it is smallest 45mm. I got 5cm space with spacers and highed motormount. I measured the distanse to the spur with an 13tooth pinion, will be more tooth so will fit..

Joram

Joram 12.29.2008 11:50 AM

finally an update:

Bought these very nice suspension arms:
http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...-12000&cat=109

In about 1.5 week i order the FLM bulkheads en shocktowers.

The CC 2200kv motorcombo will be used and a 6s lipo for some powerrr.

BTW, 6s will fit with the spacers installed, close, very close but it fits!!

Greetz,
Joram

bl-is-future 12.29.2008 11:57 AM

i would have bought the bulks now and waited on the arms. the arms are super expensive, but hey if you have the money why not, Glad to hear the 6s fits as well.

BitHed 12.29.2008 12:25 PM

...nice build...I too like the colour scheme and you woke me up to that body...I didnt know it existed :D

...Your wing mount works well and I might just have to steal that method :D its the easiest mount I have seen yet...

...One of your pictures, with the body in the foreground and the body in the background looks REALLY good :D I made it this weeks wallpaper on my PSP :D Great job...

Joram 12.29.2008 02:20 PM

Yeah well, i sold my boat and with that money i bought the arms:)

I looked at the measures from some 6s 5000mah lipo's and it fit's on 1mm....
Going to buy the motor first and then i can see the real space what's left for the lipo. Just in case 6s wont fit, i haven't bought such an expensive lipo:lol:

Ehm, why making a difficult mount when it can be done easily:mdr:
I think i make a new one because of the flm shocktowers, this wont fit because these mountingholes are based on the original towers...

btw, how is my english? I think it sucks:tongue:

Keep ya updated!

Greetz,
Joram

danhfvcsd 12.29.2008 05:19 PM

i've heard these arms are absolutely indestructible... what mah 6S lipo you got? i've measured so i can get a polyquest 6000 in there...

***edit ***
sorry - didn't read ahead first - 5000mah -lol- What brand? =)

ur english is good man, i wouldn't be worried! Try and imagine one of us trying to speak in your native tongue - bet ya dont feel so bad now huh?? -lmao-

Joram 12.29.2008 06:03 PM

Polyquest 6000Mah 6s wil fit too yes, maybe i buy them:)

Another update, a order from Liquid rc.

http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/7...rcsavagla5.jpg

I'm switching the plans for the motor. I'm not going to use the 2200kv CC combo! I'm going too use a Savöx 2000kv motor. Maybe you have never heard of it that's because it's quite new on the market. It's the OEM mark of Team orion, same stuff only the OEM product from the factory.

I'm too going to use a servo from them, 20 Kg with titanium gears and BL motor inside...

Here a cataolgus from savöx, it's not actual because the 2000kv isn't in it, only the 1000kv but you have an impresssion from what
they make!

http://www.savoxtech.com.tw/images/catalogue.pdf

Greetz,
Joram

danhfvcsd 01.01.2009 05:08 PM

man i wish i was paid the same amount i get now, but in euros -lol-

The servos look the goods, they are fast!! :gasp: http://tw.youtube.com/watch?v=EFnY0wLXCLg i love the last thumb flick at the end -lol-

I'm definately gonna look into this gear, thanks for the link - but more likely for my HPI Pro-D!!! It will match all the orange alum!! -lol-

You will have to let us know how it all goes mate, it's good to see something different to the 'norm'... what size motor are you going for? (i know it's a 2000kv - just wondering which particular one) =)

suicideneil 01.01.2009 07:15 PM

Am I reading that PDF right- they will have a 50mm x 90mm BL motor? Thats gotta be about the size of a kb45 motor, only much longer. Hell, you could tow a house with something like that..

I see there other sensored motors seem to be just like Novak items, a few hvmaxx look alikes too which is interesting for obvious reasons, just a shame the kv ratings dont go below 3000kv on those ones. Are there any images of the motor you will be using (either kv version)?

Joram 01.02.2009 04:31 AM

The motor i'm going to use is this one, only 2000kv instead of 1000kv.
Look at page 5 , and ten # BLS-5090

That is the one you mean....
I'm not 100% sure if the 2000kv motor had too those measurements, but one thing is for sure, it's a powerfull motor!!!

Yeah, the servo's are top quality and very fast, the 20kg servo is 0.15sec. :)

Greetz,
Joram

danhfvcsd 01.02.2009 05:23 AM

i am going to assume it has the same measurements and that it's gonna be the 50mm diameter/90mm long can, as the name stays the same... i noticed all of their motors are named according to diameter size first, followed by the length - (BLS-5090) which is a great way to do it imo =)

Do you know what bolt pattern it has? If it's a 50mm can, i can only assume you will need some sort of adaptor to mount her up... and if it's 90 mm long - i'm not sure you will have the room... have you checked the length? i think from memory there is only room for a can 80mm in length? correct me if i'm wrong tho!!

Joram 01.02.2009 05:39 AM

It will fit, there is exactly 90mm room.

Well for the adapter, thought you had one too, isn't it?

Greetz,
Joram

danhfvcsd 01.02.2009 06:15 AM

ahh - my bad - i thought it was 80 hehehe =)

Yes, i have an adaptor that Mike made up for me, but my motor is not quite so large, at only 44mm diameter (vs 50mm), and with 30mm hole circle... it will depend on the hole circle of the 5090 (i called it bolt pattern before - either or :))
http://www.lehner-motoren.de/ms22_mas.php
Maybe email them to check , and if you have any dramas, get the specs and i'm sure Mike can make it up for you =)

btw - the adaptor is 44mm diameter with the 30mm hole circle, so you may need a 50mm diameter adaptor with XXmm hole circle :)

Whoa! If the 1000kv version draws 175A continuous I don't even want to know how much the 2000kv one does... :surprised:

Joram 01.02.2009 09:34 AM

I'll see what i do, i think it will be A POWERfull motor:lol:

Janezki, this motor wont draw so much A. How lower the KV, the more he pulls....

Some more info of it: http://www.savoxtech.com.tw/bls-5090.htm

Greetz,

Actually it's the other way around, lower kv means lower amp draw.

That 3000kv version amp draw can't be right, only 25 amps? Besides it'd turn 66600 rpm with 6S, which is bit lot for a motor that big.

Dunno, I might be wrong but something's not right with those specs.

Joram 01.02.2009 11:24 AM

I wait for the 2000kv specs, then we can talk furder...

Today my Flextek arms arrived, but i wasn't too pleased when i saw the package:
http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/8544/img0983su3.jpg

A bit strange because on the order was the ammount of 150 dollar + 31 dollar shipping. I am allowed to carry-in 150 euro's but this was only 130 euro with shipping included. So i think they have taken a look with their scanner what's inside it... And then googled the stuff and found the original price of 299 dollar.... :diablo:

But here are the foto's:yipi:

It's the original good-cop message with a bad-cop meaning.

Basically it relays the message we all shudder to read :

Dear client, this EMS shipment is taxed with import duties blah blah blah

Or, in other words: Here's your parcel containing something you could not get in our piss-poor country and so which you searched out, bought and paid for with your hard earned money (30% of which we already stole as income tax) and then paidinternational shipping for.
Now we want you to bend over further while we dry-ream you further under the banner of import duties + local Sales Tax.

BL_RV0 01.05.2009 07:52 PM

Looks ggreat dude!

BitHed 01.06.2009 11:47 AM

...man those look fantastic...Its like they are ghosts of what they 'used' to be...It definately means all your weight is in the chassis now then...I just cant believe how 'minimalist' those arsm are...Nice purchase...

Joram 01.07.2009 02:55 PM

Well, i'm not going tu buy that HPI crap....

The quality is very bad and too expensive for that you get.

I think i go for the GPM ones, silver:) No purple or blue on my monster, only silver:mdr:

I have heard the HPI knuckles/hubs etc are stronger than the GPM? juyst what i have heard =)
But i am with you - i like the silver alum too!

BitHed 01.07.2009 10:21 PM

...in general YES but the price is as equally 'stronger'...

...The HPI rear uprights have toe angle 'built-in' so you have to be wary of that...
