I'm rockin out a watercooled AMD X2 4400 box clocked at 2.9ghz. She'll do more, but I don't need to push it.

Also have m1330 dell xps, a small fujitsu lifebook tablet that the girl child uses, and my server downstairs which is a quad 550 xeon with 1GB ram and 9 18.2GB u160 SCSI drives in raid 5. There's a few other pc's laying around here, but these are the ones that are in regular use.

I'm in IT, so parts seem to pile up around here, lol. If anyone needs computer help anytime, feel free to shoot me a PM and i'll try to lend a hand.

 Does make the electric bill a tad higher. I also have neons in it so that is why the 1000w PSU was needed. Other wise with just the hardware i could use around 800w. It is a very powerful machine and have yet to really put a load on it. Even high end games like Crysis barely phase this rig. More power than i need for sure but, hey you can never have to much power

Just bought me a new computer for my birthday gift to myself.

E8500 (YAY!) @ Core 2 Duo @ 3.16GHz
4GB of RAM
2TB of HD Space :D(Yeah, 2 Freakin Terabytes, I do some slideshow work, so pictures + movies = huge spaces)
Nvidia GEForce Crap 7300SE (I need a new card -_-)
Microsoft XP SP3 / Microsoft Vista Ultimate / MAC Leopard (Tri-Boot :D)

Mostly use my XP SP3 with my Vista skins...
Not such a hog ^_^

I need:
A new keyboard
A new power-supply
Some more fans :D (Just for show ;))

Metallover 02.10.2009 03:33 PM

If I were to build a computer out of used parts from guys' on here old computers, do you think it would work?

If I could have 2-2.4ghz processor and 1gb+ of ram that would be all I need. I really don't car about anything else. Heck, if it would work I could use parts from my current Dell POS 4300.

Would anyone sell me some parts?

lucias 02.10.2009 03:52 PM

I am currently running a:
CoolerMaster 830 Stacker Case
Intel E8400 CPU
4GB GSkill 1066 RAM
Asus Maximus Formula Motherboard
2 750GB running a raid - I have a pair if TB hard drives i might swap those out with..
Raedon HD 4870 1GB Video Card
Dell 24" and 20" Monitor

I also have some old computer parts if anyone is looking.. Have a shuttle that needs a power supply 754 socket, AMD 754 3000 processor, 1gb kingston Hyper x pc3200..

rawfuls 02.10.2009 06:03 PM

You can search up the model, and it should be around there.

wallot 02.10.2009 07:12 PM

brijar 02.10.2009 07:13 PM

A little update on my computer:

Intel C2D E4500 at 2.5GHz stock cooler
EVGA 650i Ultra MB
Going to have an ATI HD 4830 512MB DDR3 very shortly
460 watt power supply
500GB Seagate
750GB Seagate
Random DVD drive lol
4GB DDR2 800 RAM

My friend's uncle just recently went all out and bought him a computer that I'm now very jealous of:

Core 2 Quad Q9650 at 3.6GHz WATER COOLED
Rampage Extreme motherboard
ATI 4870 video card WATER COOLED (lol he needs two 4870 X2's )
4GB DDR3 1600 RAM
FOUR 750GB HARD DRIVES in RAID 10 (actually 3 and a 1TB drive. one of the 750's was giving him trouble, so he's loaned it to me. Works great for me lol :mdr:)
Gigantic case with a million fans on it that are pointless because of the water cooling, but sure look darn cool.
He couldn't get XP on it, so he's using Vista 64 right now. (lol he says that his room is very warm if he leaves it on all night .)

Brijar!!!

rawfuls 02.10.2009 07:23 PM

Wallot, you obviously game. :surprised:

That is one nice rig.
What do you play?

Unsullied_Spy 02.10.2009 08:26 PM

C2Q Q6600
4GB G. Skill DDR2 800
ABIT IP35 Pro
MSI 8800GT
Lite-On DVD +/- RW (got a litescribe laying around, just haven't put it in yet)
Thermaltake Toughpower 700W
WD740GD (10K RPM Raptor, OS drive), WD 500GB and Samsung 400GB for storage.
Acer AL1916W
Logitech MX510
Dell keyboard from ~2001

Built on a budget but it runs everything I've thrown at it with all the eye candy cranked @ 1440x900 so it'll do for another year or two until it's time for a new one.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm running Vista Home Premium, graphics card is running @ 715/1034, CPU @ ~2.7GHz and never gets turned off or rebooted. Very reliable no matter what I put it through.

After looking at some of you guys' new systems, I can't wait until I have the cash to build myself one. My 4 year old laptop, err "desktop replacement", is still working fine ATM.

bensf 02.11.2009 02:55 AM

It's a G0, they'll do 3.5 easy but I don't feel like it.
