Being light is good but I don't expect to make it the lightest possible. If I wanted it light I could just take this off or that or replace this but I am happy with where its at and the lbs ain't too bad.

Anyhow I had to throw away my Velocity 6 wheels and the Mashers because they were too damaged on the hex and the tires were just gone and too stuck to the wheel.

Here are some final pics of the Super G-Maxx..
I just massively messed up the body and the rear bumper and wheelie bar. These pics are just before I did all the damage lol.. All fixed now until the next run.

I hope to get some more vids soon, but next vids will have a ramp and some jumps.

I can't help but grin when I see your truck, Jay. It just looks soooo nice!

HotnCold 03.31.2005 08:06 AM

It is one sweet looking maxx - I donk know how people mount their motors at the top of the motor mount - I would be worried about the motor taking the hit when flipped over.... Specially that Big MaXXimum - thats a lotta $$$ to risk at the top of the mount.... imho.... But still one sweet ride.....

Chase023 03.31.2005 02:53 PM

Well actually the only time I slightly scuffed the BigMaxximum was when I ran it testing it without a lid but most of the dmg went to the posts so it was okay.

With the body on as you can see the BigMaxximum is well protected by a thick Lexan plate (Thicker than the normal proline body) I devised on the body.

Thanks for the replies, especially grinning is good! hehe.

I need to change the springs to be able to jump tho. At this moment when I drop it from like 3 feet, it almost bottoms out so with 80 weight oil, all I need now are stiffer springs to do some crazy jumps. I should of bought the ramp at K B Toy stores when it was on sale when I visited Capazon..LOL.

Serum 03.31.2005 02:57 PM

Perhaps a set of the UE springs are good to go? Inner diameter is 16mm on those springs.

MaxxFusion 03.31.2005 03:03 PM

I went with a set of RC Raven's springs. They powder coat them so you have a choice of colors. They are very stiff.

markland556 01.25.2006 03:39 AM

i wanna know where I can get those servo holders and the cool little screw things that you have for the machined screws to sit in on the servo.

CCristo 01.25.2006 07:23 AM

servo clamps

Razor racing and Full force sell the servo clamps

I just picked up a few of these from http://www.razorracing.com/sc.html. I like the way the ends wrap around the servo "ears".

Those are neat things..

Keep the darn ears of those servo's in tact..

boss 302 01.31.2006 07:04 PM

i need to get some of those

MaxxFusion 02.03.2006 08:58 PM

I just got a set of those from Papa. Wow those are nice. My servo was being smashed by the screws and I could see the servo coming loose soon. These things are a must have I think.

Does any one know if they are still made?
The link doesn't work for me.

Mike.L 08.20.2006 12:20 PM

neither does it work for me ither.

seth556 08.20.2006 03:25 PM

HOLY **** thats thing is crazy. Very nice work. if that was mine I wouldn't want to risk running it because I might scratch something on it.

Serum 08.20.2006 04:37 PM

I guess the person who owned the store is retired by now...

seth556 08.20.2006 05:56 PM

Naa hes probaly still making the last payment on his new Veyron. He's just wating for Chase to make one more truck and he'll be retired.

aqwut 08.29.2006 06:37 AM

That's a beautiful truck....I think I'm gonna build a new one.... I'm inspired to shed some weight off my truck..... Again... very nicely done up...

Are you going to run a 2280 on it as well.
If you loose a 3 lb motor it lighten the truck up. :005:

aqwut 08.29.2006 11:59 AM

nah... I'm gonna go back to my Lehner 1930... Don't want to use this big *ss motor anymore.... not sure 1930, 1940, 1950.. I think I'll stick to 1930 12s or 13S on 8S lipo...

coolhandcountry 08.29.2006 01:25 PM

The 1950 10t would rock on 8s lipo. I was thinking of a setup like it.

aqwut 08.29.2006 09:43 PM

yeah, maybe I'll do that setup.. it's only a few grams lighter...

aqwut 08.29.2006 09:49 PM

I mean heavier...

Mike.L 08.29.2006 09:52 PM

really nice truck, i guess you could say money well spent?????

coolhandcountry 08.30.2006 08:20 AM

It sounds as if you need to build you a new project. You can build a gmaxx with a slipperential. Put a 1950 on it with 8S lipo. Then you have two good truck to go fast. :D

aqwut 08.30.2006 08:25 AM

Yeah, I'm waitin' for that Slipperential.. that would be cool... it would be awesome if it was a perfect drop it for any maxx... :)

coolhandcountry 08.30.2006 09:29 AM

Yeah it would be nice for a drop in slipperential for a standard maxx. It only has the gmaxx in mind for now though. For the power you have on the 2280. You could use like a center slipper.

captain harlock 08.30.2006 10:17 AM

Mike just told me that a 8s lipos for bashing is not recommended at all, even for bashing. I say you'll be happy with 6s lipos. You should leave some cake for others, you know what I mean.

BTW, my truck is 85 percent complete. Only the body, servo, controller and batteries need to be in it to become 100% complete.

Await a thread on it.

aqwut 08.30.2006 10:23 AM

Gonna go pick up a center diff today....... I really need to bring my Final Drive Ratio down to to 6 or 7:1..... I wonder if I can make my own G-Maxx chassis using dragon plate CF laminates...

coolhandcountry 08.30.2006 10:41 AM

A center diff is not to hard to get it down to that ratio. You can squeeze a 44 tooth or 42 tooth between the rails on gmaxx. Than can run a 20 tooth pinion on it as well. That give you a 2.1 to 1 with a 3.31 to 1 diff. 6.95 to 1 final.

aqwut 08.30.2006 01:55 PM

yeah.. that would be perfect... have anyone tried that hitec TG servo yet?... I know it's rated 333 @ 6 volts.. but can it really turn the car at a stand still..?..

aqwut 08.30.2006 01:56 PM

42 tooth 32 pitch or 42 tooth mod 1...?

Serum 08.30.2006 02:22 PM

Yes, it can aqwut.
I've seen it in action a few times.

If you press the truck to the ground entirely, it just swirls the wheels around like it's nothing..

coolhandcountry 08.30.2006 02:39 PM

Mod 1 for the gears.
I got a set of big joes on my truck and it turns them in grass at a stand still.
If not it makes the ue servo saver give.

aqwut 08.30.2006 03:39 PM

whooohoo... now I can order one...

JB3231 09.12.2006 11:35 PM

Aoccdring to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm.

That is so true!
