does the tranny fit at 2mm? If not keep going. Make sure you keep it even on both sides. don't want lop sided tranny on the truck.
omg!! i cant cut the chassis!! i spent 3 hours with a dremel, trying to shave away enough so the tranny can fit!! nada!! i dunno how am i gunna be able to make them custom batt trays and rollbar....
It isn't too hard to do. just dremel patiently until the tranny drops in.
a dull bit make it hard to cut to. Make sure you have a decent one.
nbcazn, i used one of those cut off wheels that brakes real easy. i used about 6 but it worked.
AWWW!! tranny aint centered. One of the maxx shafts i bought was a T-maxx! so im stuck with 2wd revo for now....
I use a good ol' file! If you take a rough one, you'll be there in no time at all.
Was ur tranny centered? Make sure to be online aorund 3 to 4! i'll need help.
The tranny is offset to one side (as you can see in my pics), but of course it's as straight as an arrow! If you run a single motor, the offset actually is a benefit.
3 to 4 what? Your time, or mine? ;) |
in about one hour our little brushless bundle of joy will be online again..

Yeah, I took pity and uploaded some pics in my original Revo thread. (for tranny mounting detail)

Grr, dafni isnt online!! aww wel! I gotta drill holes for e-maxx tranny holes. What size drill bitts u used? Is it normal for my 10t pinion for the gears to be barely able to touch teh spiked part fo the 70? Like the spikes on the pinion are 1/3rd the size of teh spikes on the spur... I got a really stripped 72t that works perfectly with it. Found it in a toolbox. The spikes are worn down to trapazoid shapes but it works better then my other one. Ima go to my school and my teacher will help me make them batt trays and stuff at teh metal shop. Whats the specs of ur batt tray and rollbar thing. What material did u use to cover the battery trays with? Should i buy gorrilla straps? Can they even work on ur battery tray?
Well, here I am! :)
If you want to use 3mm screws (they fit the tranny case) then a 3mm drill bit would be perfect. I use 3mm sheets, but 2.5mm or even 2mm should work for batt trays. As for specs, just meassure your packs, and use a bit of imagination. My first design here is not the best. I would do it different now. I use some foam stuff with thin double-sided tape for cushioning and anti-slipage duty. Stuff feels pretty similar as the foam on the gorilla products. As for your spur: Almost sounds as if your other spur is another pitch. If the gears wont fit into each other, then they are no match. btw, those spiky things are "teeth". Good luck on this project. |
Lol, i knew taht! just forogt to use it! what u mean? coolhnad gave me the pinione! did he RIP ME OFF!?!?!?!? so far so good, the problem is that the drive shafts are hitting the cahssis. Just barely! ima file some more off on the other side and center a lil more... Everyhting is almost ready for a 2-wd revo! lol. Where do u mount the reciver? Pics? How would u do different?
Yes I ripped you off. I gave you a 10 tooth pinion 32 pitch with the motor. ;) Next time I buy a motor want some one to rip me off like that. :D That be okay azn dude. I won't sell you the schulze for that remark. ;)
lol, i was j/k! i shoulda put that in there! u never rip me off! it works with this other spur i found so i dont care!! STill a great deal!!
how cna i make the battery tray better?
