Hey guys. Could you tell me what would be a pretty good 550 motor, something along the lines of a E-maxx titan, but more power and a little cheaper? Or do I just need to buck up for two $50+ motors?
BTW, the Power Wheels motors are the same size as the 550's, and can just be swaped out . |
cheaper than a titan? there pretty cheap as it is. i would say a titan and a little more voltage.

sweet! Do they have a ESC AT ALL? cuz i remember that they went FULL THROTTLE when driving. Theres no gradual accelartion. U click and BOOM, no aaccelration or anything, just full throttle. U should get a bl system in it! thats definately more of a kick! say high to ur kids as they past real cars in the street.

You can pick up a mbuchi/johnson 550 motor (same basic motor as the titans) for next to nothing. For a cheap replacement, look for something like this. I can probably find something along these lines if you need me to.

Yeah, I think I'm going to just go ahead and get the Titans off Ebay.....Unless someones has some they could spare.
And no, no ESC, sadly. It's all or nothing. It's going to be running off one 12v battery (the stock one), I can add more and go up to 18v, something I'm pretty sure I'll do. You don't think that going up to 18v would be too much for the Titan do you? Thanks for all the help guys. |

I to need to hire that kid. He drive better than me. |
Well my next door neghbors kids were riding in their power wheels while I was reading this so I decided to give that website to him and he got some ideas and he put another battery in it so it has about 20 volts. It flys, with both of his kids (about 140 wbs it hits about 10 mph or so) the only problem is that the foot pedal gets too hot and it will solder together and will get stuck on the on postion but he is smart and made a kill switch turning off all the power in it so the kids arent stuck riding around in it till the battery dies.
|
lol, run away kids! always gotta think about safety first! I wanna see a rock crawler one. With real shocks and a rollbar. For teh kids if they want to climb a small bolders or something! lol
|
My neghbor fixed the switch problem with a relay and put a 30 amp cut off switch on it. Then he put on some brake switch that when pressed takes the power going to the motors and puts it into a big resistor that heats up (but it dosent stop it too quickly). Now my friend and I both need to get one and have drag races.

Race these little suckers? Good luck, and please dont kill yourself. If i were you, id try to find some rubber wheels, plastic wheels are dangerous at high speeds.
|
By rubber wheels i mean tires, sorry.
