i could see the brushless revo being over $600. traxxas didnt have any problems selling out on platinum revos so im sure it the brushless revos cost 700 they would still sell easly

That's funny b/c our lhs has three in stock. They ordered 4 and only 1 sold.
Im a little dissapointed that I didnt listen to my gut. I ordered the revo conversion, should be here tomorrow. But I didnt think it would be this good. I cant believe Traxxas is actually allowing another companies name on their product.

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.16.2008 10:03 PM

OMG, be no 1 selling rc toy for christmas. Wonder what the price will be. 2.4GHZ radio is a change

E-Revonut 10.16.2008 10:11 PM

I wouldn't expect a price below $699.99

E-REVO $430 - $75 for evx2/titans
MMM combo $350
basically equaly out to getting the 2.4Ghz radio for free at $700.

As for me, I already have the E-REVO, MMM, Tekno Neu 1515 2.5d so all I need is that slick mounting bracket for the MMM! I've been running mine on 4s but just ordered 2 3s packs from Neu so it ought to be a rocket and I'd rather run a 1700kv motor on 6s than a 2200kv, just my opinion there.

The EVX1 was a novak. Traxxas will probably do the same thing to castle eventually.

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.16.2008 10:31 PM

Tower Hobbies has a killer deal on it

My lhs told me the reason Traxxas dropped Novak was that they weren't supporting them with good customer service. CC will never have that problem, their CS is top notch!

hemicuda11 10.16.2008 10:35 PM

I'm sure traxxas would prefer to do everything in house.

E-Revonut 10.16.2008 10:37 PM

Thats bound to drop, and if it doesn't they'll never sell! E-Revo $430, MMM combo $350 Spektrum dx2.0 $170 = $1050 - $100-150 selling evx2,titans, and tq2 radio system. $900 and you can have it with a better radio

In reference to Tower having it listed at $989.99

Yeah, well knowing Tower Hobbies, that price will change 50 times by the time the E-REVO is out

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.16.2008 10:47 PM

Anyone know who makes the Traxxas Radios?

Silver_Flame101 10.16.2008 11:36 PM

Supposedly Traxxas, if anyone else Futaba. A traxxas employee said that they would start giving the 2.4 ghz to some of the other vehicles too.

TexasSP 10.17.2008 12:13 AM

2.4 for everything would be my pick, or just don't include electronics and make the ARTR.

Caseit 10.17.2008 12:46 AM

This is exactly what I've been waiting for. I just pre-ordered an 80mm medusa for an e-revo I don't even own yet. I'll have to go cancel it and wait for this to come out.

big greg 10.17.2008 01:04 AM

good thing they didnt try selling it with the crap AM radio, everybodies trucks would be glitching crazily lol

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.17.2008 02:15 AM

Wonder if a Brushless EMAXX will follow?

Probably not far behind. It was already built for it anyway :mdr:.

hailmick 10.17.2008 08:30 AM

Well going from the description (about the "lock on a free frequency when turned on" thing) it sounds more like a Spektrum/DSM type. There's no frequence hopping mentioned anywhere.

I think so. #1, you've already invested the money in the initial purchase, and #2, you can set it up the way you want it (within your abilities to make stuff). I'm re-doing mine again now, and wouldnt trade it for one of the new ones. If you want the low CG, buy one of the new chassis (25 bucks on Tower, less the skids and doors), or on flea bay, and a tranny, and transfer your other parts over.
I have a whole lot more pride in the one that I built than I would if I just purchased it.

bl-is-future 10.17.2008 11:23 AM

Well for those arguing about a price take a look here.....http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=TRA5608 Im sure mike will do better but for 684.99 i dont think that is too bad for what it offers.

I agree. The CC motor and MMM combo alone is priced $349 by CC. Add in the value of the 2.4GHz radio and it's not bad at all.

Im in the same boat, ive done a crap load of research, and decided to convert mine instead of buying a E. And I told the lhs owners watch traxxas come out with a bl version. :grrrrrr: :slap:

Same here. I just preordered a Medusa 36-70-2000Kv yesterday but thinking of canceling my order in favor of the CC combo. I guess I'll just take whichever arrives first :mdr:.

E-fanatic 10.17.2008 01:09 PM

I ordered the mmm combo so all I need now is the cool mmm tiedown thing on the new one. I cant wait.
Anyone know when the mmm combos are due to ship and when the new e-revo is due out?

I believe the MMM combos are supposed to be available end of October, but that can be pushed back if they dont get all the kinks worked out. As far as the E-revo, my guess is as good as yours.

Where did you order your combo from?

E-fanatic 10.17.2008 07:57 PM

I ordered it from towerhobbies b/c I got it for $275 shipped. I couldnt pass up that deal.
All I need now is the cool new traxxas esc tie down for it. Then I will be set. Well I guess I need castle to put out the combo too!!
I am running a feigao 10l right now(running 34mph) and I have a fan on top of it to keep he motor cool. Man I have trashed one 60mm fan and now 3 80mm fans. The 80mmfans seem to cool better but if I flip the truck hard It will trash the fan. So I cant wait to get this new combo in so I can clean up this truck and and not have to worry about the heat

Sammus 10.22.2008 05:46 AM

price is down to 685 on tower... cancel your 989 preorders

Hmm I just realised this thread hasn't been posted in in 4 days so you probably already know. Oh well... for those who dont

DRIFT_BUGGY 10.22.2008 06:00 AM

It's been @ $649 elsewhere. Can't remember where

hoovhartid 10.22.2008 07:09 AM

http://thebarnfloor.com/catalog/prod...roducts_id/707
$635

stum 10.22.2008 07:18 AM

It'll be to 599 w/ coupon by the time the release date gets here. By early next year I'd even est 550 range. Erevo has a ton of profit in it, other than the chassis most everything else was a pull from the revo. The "cost" for the new brushless parts - the cost of the old brushed parts will keep things more reasonable and I'm sure with the traxxas volume they get a better price than the "msrp" of the castle combo you guys keep tossing around.. LOL People have gotten the combo's at retail for 275, so what does that tell you about cost when most items operate on a 30-50% GPM.

rootar 10.22.2008 07:34 AM

i agree, i think for who ever waits it out will only end up paying in the high 5s later on.

skellyo 10.22.2008 08:23 AM

$599 at one of my LHS
http://www.superiorhobbies.com/istar...&id=TRA5608!SH

Sammus 10.22.2008 08:24 AM

Can just use the $75 coupon to preorder on tower and get it for $610 which is sweet deal i reckon... hopefully it only gets lower.

skellyo has us all beat :P

stum 10.22.2008 08:30 AM

Traxxas would do them selves good by releasing a "race" version as well before xmas... This is the model that could push 650-700, include all the "hop ups" that they left off.. center diff, red pushrods and turnbuckles, 17mm hex's w/ racing tires, upgrade the shocks to the dual rate, sway bars etc.. mimic the platinum release in many ways.. For that matter, if they sold two "race" kits they would be even better.. one setup for drag racing with a road tire, and another setup for dirt racing with the response pro's.

LightningTC 10.22.2008 08:54 AM

who has the best deal on just the mamba monster and motor combo? I have friend that wants a mamba monster combo. You guys did a great job finding good deals on the revo brushless.

Sammus 10.22.2008 08:58 AM

if you get something really cheap with a combo (299.99) on tower to push it over 300 you can use a 75 voucher for about 225 - best ive seen.

pthunell 10.22.2008 07:30 PM

A123 batts

Anyone know how well A123 batts fit in the battery slots? I should probably just go to the traxxas website, but I try to avoid that place.

Thanks in advance.

Pete

Sammus 10.22.2008 07:54 PM

Not very well. If you do a 2x2 4s shotgun pack it will nearly fit, but will stick out by a couple mm and youll need some other way of securing them in there (battery doors won't close). Or if you get the extended wheelbase rear arms, you can fit a side by side 6s pack in there which will stick out nearly an inch. (without the long wheelbase rear arms they're too close to the rear tyre).

I can't recall exactly but I think the max battery size is LxHxW = 165mm x 30mm x 51mm

I know the biggest pack I could find to fit in the erevo tray was the maxamps 2s2p 8000mAH lipo (20c version). This held up fine to any/all abuse and really maxed out the space for hight and width, but there was still some length in there. I saw a few photo's and the true-rc packs and SPC 8000mAH 2s lipo's also took up the entire space and were longer to boot (also weighed more than the maxamps)
