Jealous.
 

Well I am jealous here in Seoul, Korea. The weather report keeps threatening snow, but it never comes. It is going down to like 7F this evening so there is hope yet. My kids have never really seen a good snowfall before, because they have been living in Orlando and San Francisco all their lives. So they are anxious for us to get some. I am praying for a Merry WHITE Christmas this year to help the kids relieve some anxiety. Since we live on a mil base I don't ahve to worry about going anywhere for anything. We can walk to get just about anything.

The blizzard we got this weekend wasn't too bad. A bad one will be where you can't see across the street, but here is some pics from the blizzard.

Well thank you for the good wishes. In fact it is now 2300 here in Seoul and it started snowing almost an hour ago:yipi:. It is coming down pretty good, and the temp is in the low teens tonight, so we are hoping that it keeps snowing throughout thet night here:yes:. The kids just went to bed praying for more snow:oh:. The little buggers have never really seen a good snow or played in it before either:whistle:. We shall see what happens in the morning when everyone wakes up. Maybe a white Xmas is in the cards after all:party:. My oldest daughter is flying in from Seattle on the 26th and she is worried about being snowed in there in Washington:eyes:. From the looks of the news there are a lot of places getting snow this week. Gobal warming!!!!!:lol:

Someone stole my snow shovel. That was the only thing I got out of the divorce. JK Someone did steal it though. Should of thought about all the store running out of them. Not one to be bought legally around town. Protect your investments. Bring your shovel inside.

That SUCKS. Do you have any means of snow removal now? maybe someone just wanted to see you build a remote control plow and scoop your driveway that way.:lol:

Well it is morning here in Seoul now, and the goverment services have already come around with the leaf blowers and blown down the sidewalks for us. It only took a minute. We ended up with about 1-2" of snow through the night. Not great, but at least the kids can play in it. They are predicting even more tonight so we shall see. The kids are just waking up so we will see how this pans out for them. It sure looks pretty here, and the weather now is beautifully calm. Good luck in your regions.:lol:

Awesome. Glad to hear it turned out good. One or two snowfalls ago we got 3-4" and it was so light you could leaf blow it... I love that kind of snow.:angel:

Been having to use the neighbors shovel to dig out the driveway. I did get the snow blower working. It was a Tecumshe and has bowl type carb on it. When I took the bolw of it was full of either rust or maybes saw dust. Instead of an air filter it has a know you push in that say prime on it. We keep getting storm after storm passing though. Couple more suppose to hit between now and Sunday.

I almost fired up my leaf blower too on our first round of snow. It was light like that. The leaf blower is having problem. Cheap plastic and now the bolts that hold the carb, don't hold the carb.

I live in Chicago, only god knows why. I could be anywhere. This week I have dug my car out of 4" snow 3 times. Its so cold (-2 or -27 wc) my battery is either frozen or dead. I put a super jumper to it over and over takes 5 hours to charge, and it cranks 3 grruh's then nothing. It snowed another 4 inches today, and the forcast called that "light snow" supposed to get the heavy snow from 8pm-2am. Im moving to Baja

Funny news about snowblowers,, I saw the coolest one ever today.

I was on my way to go sledding at this hill and one the way I saw a friend snowblowing about an inch of snow from his driveway.:lol: Anyway, I asked him if he wanted to go sledding, and he said he could. Another friend that was with me, the smart ass he is, said we could finish snowblowing for him. Surprisingly, my snowblowing friend said sure. So I go up to his snowblower, which looks brand new, and this thing is amazing. It had abundant power and the snow chute was all completely and easily controlled by levers on the control panel thing. Insted of turning a crank to move the chute left or right, you just pushed a lever left or right. To adjust the angle of snow blowing out of it, you just push a lever up and down. This thing was amazing!!

When I got done I just shut 'er off wanting to leave. The blower has at least 10 hp, and is an electric start.(plug in type) My friend came out from getting a sled or something and just primed it and started it right up with the pullstart and took it inside.:surprised: It's one thing to start a big engine with a pull start, but when it's below freezing out, its another challenge in itself.

I have something similar, but It's not nearly as nice and a 3-4 years old.

I wish I had something like that. Im from California stuck in Chicago , I still refuse to believe it can snow this much unless you are in the mountains. I have a 2 stroke snow blower, ever try to start one of those at 2 degrees. I have to bring it in my kitchen to warm up for 4 hours. What a pile, paid $25... get what you pay for !

One of those super jumpers isnt going to cut it below zero. You need to flag down someone with a running vehicle (hopefully a diesel truck) to jump start you - and they need to leave the motor running, and possible keep the rpms up to deliver the amperage you need to get it cranking. IF you intend to stay in the north, get yourself a good battery with lots of cold cranking amps. And go get a block heater installed on your car. Bet you Californians had lots of jokes about those of use with extension chords dangling out our grills!!:lol:

Also, your oil choice could have something to do with it. If you are runnnig a lightweight "summer oil" you need to get that changed to an viscosity that isnt going to turn into sludge at those temps. Also, keep your gas tank full - empty tanks tend to get more water in them when its cold.

All we have is a leaf blower to use. I actually saw the workers here using their gas powered blower to do the job and it works pretty well. So I got out our little electric one and plugged it in. The boys had a blast using it, and it only took a few minutes to blow off all of the sidewalks 1"-2". I figure if it snows again I will just have it ready and keep the sidewalks clear as it snows. It is way too easy not to use it this way and stay ahead of the game. I can only imagine that if you have several inches of snow that it may be just a bit too much for this type of blower, but I only paid like $30 for this thing. If you could add a little bit of heat to something like this that would do the trick. Kind of like a large hairdryer rig. Oh I know. Just have Shaun bring in his battle truck and flamethrow the snow away. :lol:
