Hey, the UE servo saver...well, does it come with a metal servo saver?!

Serum 01.10.2006 12:51 PM

You might need to put the servo on the other side if this doesn't give you enough room.

Metal servo saver? You mean the horn on the servo Captain? that came with the hitec servo (in blue, my guess is that Papa removed the anodize)

Papa 01.10.2006 12:56 PM

Yep... EAsy-Off oven cleaner, and a tooth brush.:D

Sneeck 01.10.2006 01:10 PM

I would change the steering linkage though.

mmdooley 01.10.2006 02:43 PM

What would be a good arm aluminum, plastic, what brand????
Oh, I was just putting it on every way but the right way :C: PAPA's picture helped alot because I could see the bar that barely clears the drive cup and hybrid case. Thanks Papa!

Papa 01.10.2006 02:46 PM

Depends on your servo? SOme make teir own. I know reacers edge makes one for JR and Hitec. Happy to assist.

i did that too;

You mean that 2 speed servo? It will go soon. Your truck looke great :D

mmdooley 01.10.2006 02:49 PM

I have a JR racing servo, Papa. Thanks

Papa 01.10.2006 02:53 PM

I am ceratin they sell one with the right spline for your servo. If you do not find it look for racers edge they make one as well.

mmdooley 01.10.2006 03:20 PM

Hey, Papa if you don't mind me asking what kind of shocks are on your truck? They look like ONFA shocks??

Sneeck 01.10.2006 03:28 PM

UE racer x shock's.

captain harlock 01.10.2006 04:11 PM

Does Mike sell the metal servo horn seperately?

Serum 01.11.2006 03:11 AM

He can get you the horn that fits on your servo.

Just sent him an email.

captain harlock 01.11.2006 06:08 PM

Okay, e-mail on its way.

mmdooley 01.11.2006 09:29 PM

This is what I have right know.

coolhandcountry 01.11.2006 09:43 PM

Is that a servo saver or just a set of aluminum pivot arms? If just arms I wouldn't run the arm on servo. It is going to be hard on it.

mmdooley 01.11.2006 10:04 PM

What's the difference between a saver and arms??

boss 302 01.11.2006 10:13 PM

a saver has a spring in it to absorb the shock of a frontal impact
if u still had the arm on the servo it could suffer some damage and possibly ruin the servo

coolhandcountry 01.11.2006 10:13 PM

It has a spring and a cams on it. So that it will give.

Basketti 01.11.2006 10:16 PM

yeah if it has a spring on it then its a servo saver, if it doesnt have a spring then its just aluminum posts and not a servo saver, so you will need to use that white servo horn with the spring in it.

mmdooley 01.11.2006 10:32 PM

I think I will buy a UE and be done with it. But I would rather pay now then later. Does the UE saver come with a arm??

coolhandcountry 01.11.2006 10:38 PM

What you mean come with arms?

mmdooley 01.11.2006 10:41 PM

Arm, Does it come with a servo drive arm like the plastic one in the pic above.

coolhandcountry 01.11.2006 10:47 PM

nope it doesn't. Sorry

captain harlock 01.12.2006 05:08 AM

Dooley, if you want a servo SAVER, go and get the Tamiya servo saver if Mike can get it to you. They're very durable, very nice and well designed.

squeeforever 01.12.2006 09:12 AM

the prolines are also very nice although discontinued.

mmdooley 01.12.2006 05:16 PM

Where can I go and look at a Tamiya servo saver??

Papa 01.12.2006 05:43 PM

You may want to give this Kimbrough Servosaver a shot.

However this is a much better idea. You need a servo arm to match whatever servo you have, should be a buck or two.

Basketti 01.12.2006 05:49 PM

i've had one of those kimbrough servo savers and after about 3 runs the servo just ends up winding the spring instead of turning the tyres. supermaxx servo sounds like a good idea! thats what i use :)

mmdooley 01.12.2006 06:20 PM

What about the TAMIYA?? Does anyone have a picture or link so I can look at it?? I have a JR racing Z650M metal is that a good one??

Papa 01.12.2006 06:26 PM

link :p google is a good thing

squeeforever 01.12.2006 06:34 PM

the heavy duty kimbroughs (black ones) are probably the best although i think aluminum arm with a proline servo saver or ue servo saver is the best setup as well as adjustable.

captain harlock 01.12.2006 06:35 PM

Get the Tamiya servo saver and put some CA glue to secure everything and you'll be just fine.

mmdooley 01.12.2006 06:39 PM

I Think I will go wiyh the UE. Is there one like the UE but cost less $$? Will my Z650M be a good servo for the all aluminum MT?
Thanks

Basketti 01.12.2006 06:41 PM

i use a hitec 645, has about 110 oz/in at 5v i think, and it works fine :)

mmdooley 01.12.2006 06:44 PM

That's good , I got this one when I got the truck and it is supose to be a 165oz. but not possitive

Sylvester 01.15.2006 11:05 AM

Hows the progress on this truck going?

captain harlock 01.15.2006 02:36 PM

Does the chassis look extended? really, I cant see a difference between this chassis and the Gorilla one without an extension. Where is the extension placed?

Sneeck 01.15.2006 03:07 PM

It's 1 inch extended in the rear.
