you can use this diff, i run a 11t pinion on my crt with a 46t spur, with the stock crt diff mount and motor mount, the spur only sits about a 1/4 inch off the chassis. its not a big deal

about 44 mph on 4s with a 1515 1y. you might wanna go with a 12 running the 2000 on 4s, for 6s i would gear it for the same speed and turn the epa down, its easier to switch voltages that way

superek4 03.29.2009 10:18 PM

sure any difference if I run on 46 n 50? Just the size of the pinion rite?

The Slipperential will drop right into the RC-Monster X1CRT mount (mount was designed to accomodate smaller spurs as well as the large stock spur)and can be used - it will need to be shimmed to take up the extra space(Ofna diff is a little larger). There is no need to switch to the CR motor mount to use the Slipperential. Only the 46t spur is available at the moment, though - so this needs to be considered into the gearing equation. It is a good idea IMO to replace the ring and pinion gears on the front/rear diff to the newer truggy ratio, but with the appropriate motor, battery nad gearing it is not a necessity to use the slipperential (50t spur is suggested for this application, which is in the works). :)

Mike...just ordered mine. Can you give us an idea of how much shimming is required with the Jammin CR/CRT cars/trucks.

Thanks.

no i do not have the spiral cut gears, that just changes your ratio, you dont acually need to, just use the speed calc. youll be fine

I was told by my jamning agent that if I dun change the gear it won't be optimum.

Now my CRT is on 62spur with 14t, so if I change will be 50spur 11t pinion wo changing the F n R diff. U think better then my present setting?

you were told that because they want your money:lol: i originally had a 13t with the 62t spur and i hated how big and noisey it was so i switched to a 46t kyosho plastic and love it, put a 10t on there at first but the motor hit the center brace, then put the 11t and it fits just fine. my buddy runs the same gearing on his crt with the spiral cut gears, it seems no different to me, i dunno the ratio that the spiral cut are, but they are not a necessity imo

superek4 03.30.2009 06:29 AM

Lol I used a excel sheet n calculated that using x1 CRT gear 43/13 is faster than x2 CRT 45/10 using 46spur n 16 pinion y?

brushlessboy16 03.30.2009 06:52 AM

http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/index.html

Way better then any spreadsheet. :)

I m using that:)

RC-Monster Mike 03.30.2009 09:26 AM

Changing the front/rear ring and pinion gears isn't an absolute necessity - as long as you have matched your motor, battery, gearing, etc. to the gears you have, you will be fine.
Even though it isn't NECESSARY, I think it is a good idea to use the truggy ratio diffs(if it was my truck, I would use the truggy diffs). The spiral gears are stronger, quieter and smoother, for one. For another, they allow a much smaller spur while retaining a larger pinion, which will be smoother again as well as last longer.

U mean x1 CRT is not using truggy diff for front n rear isn't it 43/13? Or u meant 45/10 is better?

RC-Monster Mike 03.30.2009 10:01 AM

X1CRT has 13/43 ring and pinion gears in the front and rear diffs - same as most buggies. The x2 and most other truggies use a spiral gear set that has more reduction - this allows use of a smaller spur in the center to achieve the same or similar overall reduction (which is preferred IMO). :)

Semi Pro 03.30.2009 10:59 AM

mike, this will fit the losi 8ight B right?

RC-Monster Mike 03.30.2009 11:09 AM

It should drop right into the Losi buggy and truggy - minor clearancing may be needed to allow space for the slipper, though - the plastic top brace will likely need minor dremel work. :)

mothman 03.30.2009 11:36 AM

Mike, will this slipperential works in a heavy truck like Savage? I have sent you a PM about this and would be waiting a reply from you.

RC-Monster Mike 03.30.2009 11:46 AM

Check your PM's, Mr. O. :)
A Savage will require a pretty tight slipper setting, but it should work fine - of course a way to mount a center diff into a Savage is another story. :)

mothman 03.30.2009 12:16 PM

Thanks Mike for the rapid response. Glad to hear that it will work in a heavy truck like Savage. Is there any plan to produce this center diff mount, http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10233 ? I know this is for the emaxx but I bet it would not be hard to use this on a Savage with a center skid plate. I can see that alot of people are interested in this mount as well..

rootar 03.30.2009 01:02 PM

i order mine for my rc8t today, should have ordered an amb personal but oh well the house transponder will be free to use till june so ill get a personal then.....

brushlessboy16 03.30.2009 03:38 PM

How much larger are house transponders over Personals?

MetalMan 03.30.2009 03:49 PM

They are about twice as thick, and a bit wider. The main thing is mounting; personal transponders can be put anywhere, whereas house transponders need to be mounted in an easy-to-access location and held in by a body clip.

BlackedOutREVO 03.30.2009 04:02 PM

Any idea if it will fit in the Odonnell ZO1B buggy? Or the Kyosho 777?

Looks amazing, I have any excuse to get a buggy, or run one of my buddies spare 777's

Finnster 03.30.2009 04:59 PM

Very nice looking part, and all the replacement parts are very well priced. A+++!

Now for that CD for a savage.... Really I could take that emaxx/gmaxx CD pictured and make it work if it was available.

E-Maxx Sweden 03.30.2009 07:36 PM

Hello Mike

What a nice pice of build you got there.

Just one question, will it fit in my E-Maxx 3905 FLM chassi?

Regards

Mine's going there, just minus the mech. brakes

MIKE - a number of questions about erevo - emaxx and 62T spur support. we get a no on the threads but no real explantion - almost like why would you want that? their is a very large community of users out there so i am not sure why their isnt a business case for this. The current center diff is plastic and the slipper is weaker than it needs to be under the stress of 6S you almost have to keep it locked.
Why no response on this topic?

Arct1k 03.31.2009 01:09 PM

I think you are getting confused - The emaxx uses a transmission with a 62 sput - locked in 2nd this provides a 1.72 gear reduction.

The setup we are asking for will eliminate the transmission and replace it with just the slipperential. The differential mount would include also integrate a motor mount.

The gearing will be very different as the 1.72 gear reduction in the orginal transmission would be eliminated.

So you want a replacement for the emaxx and erevo tranny? Something like the older bulkhead besign Mike had for the 1st gen gmaxx, I assume. I can see this selling well, as the stock slipper clutch and the traxxas center diff cannot handle the hotter setups very well.

The 62t spur issue is related to the x1 crt, he wants to use the new slipper/diff, but does not want to change over to truggy diff gears.

If hes talking a Emaxx CD design like a few priviedged members here have for the 3906 that make us all drool. In a 3905 design.. Cant find any pics, but like Gee made out of carbon fiber/fibre, (you know what they are, the CD mounts instead of a tranny we've been asking for going on 15 months here :P:) slap a slipperential in it... That, and a set of extended 8mm drive shafts for the flextek arms, and a set of wheels & tires like the black Gmade gm2 Ultratrac, but go 75+ mph. I seriously think I could stop on the G4 project, and feel whole, and sit at a mountain top contemplating the sound of a soft breeze.

alangsam 03.31.2009 06:23 PM

we need a better option for a Centerdiff and slipper than comes on the current 3905 emaxx and e-revo. i was thinking that if we could get a bigger spur on the diff part of this then you wouldnt have to change out any diff gears.

jay, are you talking about this:

If yes, then, yes we definitely need this to be in the store as I can see that many people are interested to fit this slipperential in their truck especially the emaxx owners.

jayjay283 03.31.2009 08:09 PM

I'd assume so, but I cant see them Mothman lol.... Leaves me contemplating yet again why oh why when daily there is a post on the net where did you get the Maxx CD mount, MIke wont make more and post up a part # for sick profit. ... hmmm

Jay, I can see that alot of people will be interested in this mount. So if we can get enough people to convince Mike, I bet he will make them again. The only thing that stopped me from getting the slipperential for my savage is that I dont have a suitable mount for it. With this mount I can see that even Savage users can easily use the slipperential.

Hey Sean, is that a 1.5d 1515 in there? If so, how hard does it work those lipos?

I had a 1515 1.5d in my erevo and it worked the trakpower packs hard. I have since sold them and purchased the same lipos you have in the pic. I have not had a chance to run them yet, but I plan to with a MMM and a plett maxx. Just wondering if they can keep up...
