personally, i'd like to have seen a 3500kv or lower(maybe 3000kv), but 4000kv beats the high winding motors that dominate the mini world
|
A <3000kV would work with 4S, I hope the motors I'm having in mind will fit :D
|
How big are the battery compartments on these things? Anyone have any idea on what size pack can fit? Just curious if I already have something that would fit or I would need to by something specifically for this.
|
Keep in mind that if you do already have some packs that would fit it, that they either need to have the trx hc connector or youd have to modify one or the other plugs. As far as battery packs go though I think anything close to a 6s NiMH pack would work since thats what the traxxas pack looks like. Still think it'd be cool to get one and toss in a CCMS9000 if it would fit, may have to get one of these and try it out. :intello:
|
4000 should be fine for 2s-3s lipos. I agree that they made a good choice in not going crazy with the kv ratings. I'm definitely excited to see these things in action.

There is no way this thing takes full size sub c stick packs. It's gotta be the small onse like the rc18 takes.
Plugs don't mean anything to me. I changes everything to deans before I even plug it in. Just wondering if anyone has seen anything with more battery compartment size info. |

What are the price comparisons with the trackpower 1600 and flightpower 1600? I know they are the same cells, so the cheaper one is the one to get.
|
http://www.traxxas.com/products/elec...7108_specs.htm
scroll down to the esc specs, for a 3s MINI esc, its got nice specs |
Yeah, but they rated the VXL to 200A for the Rustlers and there's no chance of it maintaining 200A. They rate it off the FETs, I think.
|
I'm sure the battery compartments are a similar size to the rc18 batteries... however, it comes with a 1600 mah pack (i believe) and the rc18 is only 1100. Which is a good sign... Good for the Bl-revo, it can hold two of those. which means you can run 3s 1300 (around there) in series for 2600 mah and massive runtimes. the speeds should be quite good too!

you can get a hell of a lot out of 2s lipo. In our vendettas we run a 2s 1600 flightpower packs and we get all the speed you'll ever need. That's with a neu 1105/07. You get 40-60mph and can flip it over on damand. I've got videos...:diablo:

First Post.
Here you go fella's. Straight from Traxxas!! Hello, The battery compartment is 35.5 mm deep by 101.90mm long and 20.30mm high. Best regards, Stephen Lindholm, TRAXXAS Customer Service I would like to personally thank Stespen Lindholm for the hook up!! |
Amainhobbies.com has them listed for pre-order now:
Slash $279.99 http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ucts_id/138921 E-Revo $294.99 http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/34422 |
I want an e-revo roller. I don't want to use the stock electronics... Do you think ebay sellers will sell the me-revo as a roller?
Thanks for the info guys. Keep it coming. Those 2200 cells will be tight.... On hobbycity it ranges from 100-105mm long. Anyone have some 2200 packs they want to post the measurements of? |
This seems the best bang for the buck right now. Barring any specialty cells that will be made in the future should these things sell like hot cakes.
3s 20c 11.1v wired in parallel for 3200mah. Winner winner chicken dinner! http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idproduct=6539 For Nimh's this seems the highest capacity so far for 2/3a http://cgi.ebay.com/INTELLECT-7.2V-1...QQcmdZViewItem |
Big time winners! Nice find FyrFytr! Looks like they'll fit perfectly. And they only cost $15! Really impressed. Time to find something to sell to pick up a Mini E-Revo...
|
The only thing I would watch for is that sometimes Hobby Kings measurements aren't all that accurate. But if they are, oooooooooh baby!!:intello:
|
I know the bigger Quark esc's can handle 5 and 6s (supposedly), Can the 22 or 33 amp quark pro car handle 5 or 6s? Not going for max speeds, just looking at the lowkv hi-volt angle. if not the quark, what mini sized esc could do 6s tops?
|
Just in case anyone care it appears that HC is getting most of the zippys back in stock. And the hardcase packs have info saying that the soldering has been improved.
Plus they have some cool HV boat escs... And Prog cards that seem to be universal for all of the turnigy escs. Just bought one of those so we will see! |
Linc did you ever get those air controllers for your baja?
|
Sucks, I wish the battery compartments were just slightly larger. If they were 110mm long, it would increase the amount of battery options to a whole host including many of the FlightPowers.
|
Yeah if anyone has any experience with high capacity mini scale ESC's. Then now would be the time to chime in.
It's really funny hearing some people talk about installing 540 sized motors and what not around the various boards. The new mini revo backflips on the stock system by itself on Nimhs!! There IS such a thing as overkill you know. Now a non stock ESC size appropriate ESC with top end programming features? That's what I'm looking for most. Given the Slash's immense popularity. The minis just open the door for a new indoor class during those cold winter months. |
I'm just going to run what is in there. Two 3S Lipo's in parallel should be more than plenty.
Given what this thing does on 12 NiMH cells (I doubt it backflips on the one included pack), 3S should be plenty powerful since it'll hold much more voltage than those little 2/3A cells could ever do, and then this way there is way more capacity (and current capability, meaning voltage will drop less). It'll also allow me to run it in water. This is probably one of the few trucks I will leave very stock, except for turning those turnbuckles and what not into the optional aluminum Traxxas ones. I can't stand the red plastic. Makes it look partly radioshack built. |

They were probably just trying to keep cost down. I think some black rit dye will cure it!
Haha, everyone knows I MUST have a mini revo! |

3s 20c 11.1v wired in parallel for 3200mah. Winner winner chicken dinner! http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idproduct=6539 thats going to be a very tite fit, height wise. theres only like .3 cm room to spare. any kind of swelling and then there will be a problem. |
So I wonder when the RPM true track jr comes out?
Or Some PL bodies? Wings? Tires I think will just be 10th scale buggy tires. So I have plenty of those! I think everyone is going to have one of these just because of how cheap it is! Haha its hard not to buy a little revo |
Mine will stay stock, just long enough to get the parts for what i want. My plan is for a medusa 28mmx32mm 1500kv motor with a quark 33 amp pro-car with a 5s (3x2s) of polyrc 1500's
|
i wonder how 1/8th scale buggy badlands will look on the mini E-revo?? ive never been fond of the talons, and i would think that buggy wheels/tires would be around the right diameter but not as wide.

Revo
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/34422 294 Amain - with coupons should be able to get for around 270 Slash is cheaper at 280 - with coupons should be able to get for around 255 |

this is great, 250 for the truck, 150 for a lipo charger(or cheaper if i buy used), and 100 for a bunch of 3s lipos. right at 500 for a whole new mini erevo setup. Cant wait to pick one of these little babys up!
|
Hmm, if you plan to run 2 2s packs in series I would buy this lipo charger: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...Charge_Capable
It will charge at about 1.8amps, and will do 2 2s packs at once. Plenty for the size packs we are talking about. I have one and it works great, charges each cell in the pack separately, so the charge time is fast even with an out of balance pack. They also have a 5 amp power supply for 10 bucks. And 2 of these packs: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...0mAh_2S1P_20C_ Run them in parallel for a 3200 mah 2s setup that will do 30 and have great runtime, or go in series for a 1600mah 4s setup that should easily beat 50. With std shipping you are at less than 75 bucks... And I am sure that the prices will come down on the minis, so I can imagine you could keep the cost under 300 bucks for the whole deal... |
that is great news linc, this stuff sure is alot cheaper than 1/10th stuff, atleast when i was looking into it. ill have to pick up two or three sets of lipos for max runtime!
so around 300ish for a full brushless lipo mini erevo! i can swing that!. then comes the upgrades oh i have caught the bug again! |
