And this summer USA is most likely going to default on it's lowns... and California is in for the biggest surprise! holy $#it I can't even describe it.
|
O so you want me to say that I wish everyone who voted Obama in should be singled out and have their rights stripped from them and sentenced to Guantanamo? O wait he closed it down. Shit... where do we send them now? Maybe we couple just stick it to those people to be responsible for the trillions in debt we now have. Maybe we should force them to buy those overpriced GREEN cars that "must achieve 30+ MPG's in 5 years." Or maybe we should send to overseas to kiss and caress those towelheads from which we buy our oil from, and have them beg to lower the prices.
Nah, that would be just mean and harmful thinking of me, or me just realizing thats what we'll be doing in our near future... ZPB: yep you're talking about USA issueing bonds to pay for shit and no one wanting to buy them, so we buy our own bonds and pay/owe interest to ourselves in which creates debt and inflatation. YAY!!! |

I opened this topic expecting to read about some batteries... but, I enjoyed this read much better. +1 to everything said above. You guys won't believe what 95% of my high school's political thoughts are... they range for the most part from radical Democrats to socialists to Commies and everything in between. And these are the people that will be running this country in the future... Anyone see V for Vendetta?
|
They aren't ALL the same. Obama, Nancy and their gang are frekkin SOCIALISTS!!!!
Prob can't make that argument for Bush, McCain.... |
LOL at BrianG and Nitrostarter! I Agree 100%! Oh and I want some of those batteries to run in my BL boat!

Very nice to see some RC peeps with their peeps open... allow me to add to the suggested material two more: The Obama Deception, and The Money Masters; both on Google Video. Just make sure there are no razor blades close by if you decide to watch either in full......
Zeropoint, the only point I'll correct you on is the date, the Fed was born in the wee hours over Christmas recess in December of 1913, while Congress was only given short notice and really no time to read the Act. Sound familiar? Yeah it's still that way. This is all explained in The Money Masters. The Act was never formally ratified and is to this day null and void. The only enforcement is by intimidation, mostly in the form of audits, of course. And there have been significant cases lost by the Fed, and enough people know now that before 1913 'income' taxes were nonexistent. And bear in mind the founding fathers left England in part because the aggregate tax was approaching 10%. Can you imagine??? We now pay upward of 50% of our gross, yes for almost nothing. Where do we start to fix this disaster.... we ABOLISH the Federal Reserve. Oh and the Max#$^# are surely not worth the fake money we pay for em either! |
I honestly don't have a problem with paying income tax because it is supposed to go to various fed/state programs. The issues I have is (and some of these relate more to the state):
1) It is too much, and too complex. Doing your taxes should not involve an afternoon gathering mortgage interest statements, W2s, 1099s, receipts, etc. A simple flat tax that applies to everyone with no deductions. Why should someone who decided to have 5 kids get more breaks than a childless couple? Do they "deserve" it more? I don't think so, and I have kids. 2) Part of it goes to welfare and other "handout" programs. I understand giving someone a helping hand when absolutely needed, but it needs to stop when welfare (and other like programs) become a way of life. Too easy to get handouts if you have no integrity and ambition. 3) Military. I don't want to seem unthankful for the people that fight for my freedoms (limited as they are becoming), but do we really need 4 branches? And if we'd keep our people out of other countries, we wouldn't need as many people to begin with. And really, wars can be/are fought much more with technology today than treating people as cannon fodder like in old wars. 4) Gov't official salaries are way too high. It would be one thing if these people actually did something for their pay other than further their own agendas. As far as president himself is concerned; I feel he is all but useless. And when I say "he", I don't specifically mean Obama, but any person in that office. Even if he/she did want to actually do something for the people, the rest of gov't can stop it in its tracks or drag it on till oblivion if it doesn't fit into their agenda. So, the president is just a figurehead IMO; parade him/her out in public during events, and then put them back on the shelf after. |
Brian, point #1.. I do have a problem with it, state and sales tax, combined with state lottery (a VOLUNTARY tax) is what pays for our roads, bridges, welfare, etc. At least it is supposed to.
Federal Taxes are almost immediately offshored and put into foreign accounts and/or Pentagon black budgets. Much of it is converted to gold and other hard currency which does have intrinsic value, as soon as it leaves our shores. Point 1.1 Sir this is a BIGGIE- the best way to bloat an agency is to add massive numbers of employees whose sole purpose is to create the air of authority, and to make things vague enough that the average Joe is intimidated by the sheer complexity. This is their JOB. Think of it as marketing of the worst variety. #3 I have the sincerest respect for our servicemen, however to continue with the Oil & War economy we live under requires new and unending wars. We need to change that. And yes sir, he is but another puppet, just the latest one! |
Sorry guys, you can like get back on topic... maybe?
|
No way, too much fun. Besides, if we actually stay on topic, we'd be breaking tradition around here. And you wouldn't want that would you?
|
I'm actually all for breaking tradition, always have been  but I'll make this one exception...
But yes, back on-to-off topic:lol: if it pleases the court (and its jesters) |
look up "obama deception" in any search engine and watch the video. you won't believe what is actually going on in this country (well, most of you. some already know)
|
Keep it going guys! I've still got most of a bowl of popcorn
My biggest problem with taxes under Democrats is it's what I call "Shame-on-you" taxing. Back when I was working 2 days/week I was paying maybe $30 into taxes, now I'm up around 180 hours/month (working almost every day) and only making a few hundred per check more. I know people that have some SERIOUS money but won't invest it into anything because they'll pay out the @$& in capital gains taxes and they'd rather wait a few years for Republicans to come back into some form of power and let people earn money again. In defense of the man, Obama has done 1 great thing that I can think of. The firearms industry is probably the only one making good money these days. Ammunition these days costs 4x what it did just a few years ago, semi-automatic firearms are up around 3x, and it's hard to get a hold of anything. If only Napolitano hadn't decided that the Chinese needed the CIA, FBI, Police, and Military's empty brass worse than the U.S. owned and operated companies reloading them and selling them to the civilian market (tens-of-thousands have already lost their jobs over this). EDIT: While I'm still on my soapbox I'd like to unload something else. In 2008 Bush temporarily removed the federal tax on gasoline (probably diesel as well, my memory sucks though) and people were all mad and claiming that he was just trying to help out his "rich buddies" by making them pay less into taxes. The thing they don't seem to understand is that the oil companies are not going to just eat the cost of taxes and keep gas prices the same. Without the taxes they can produce it for less money and therefore sell for less money (laissez-faire free-market capitalism does actually work, oil companies compete for business and they reduce their prices to make their oil more attractive to buyers.) If we crank up the taxes on big companies they will raise prices which makes things harder for the everyday person and that company will probably relocate overseas where they can improve their profit margins by getting cheaper labor and fewer taxes. Every big company/corporation started off as a small one but through hard work and good business decisions they prospered and grew (hiring more workers along the way, lets not forget). Lets not punish them for being successful but rather encourage success and let the "troubled assets" which make poor decisions fail, someone else will come in to fill their space. |

i`m not an american, but what you said is what i would want if i was an american.. it`s pretty much the 'sane' approach for all countries [and people] in this insane planet... 'common sense politics' is a species under extinction nowadays... all around the globe... |
The problem with Obama and our Democratic government is that they want to kiss everyone's ass and send billions of dollars overseas to people that hate us. And then Obama and Pelosi travel the globe saying I'm sorry and turning America in soft queers. Its a damn shame that we have to pay this activity.
When Thomas Jefferson was president, he petitioned Congress and asked them to provide a horse for him to make his way around the country. Congress stood up and said sorry Tom, you'll have to buy that horse and carriage yourself... Now Pelosi is spending hundreds of millions of dollars to fly her arthritic finger ass all over the country and the world. Why are we paying for this? Why are my hard earn dollars being paid in tax are paying for this nonsense bullshit? In the spendulous bill, why were we buying new golf carts and cars? new pigs for research? a new lawn around the Jigga-Boo Igloo? Why? Why is it that Obama is priding himself on creating 15,000 new jobs from the spendulous bill? Doesn't he realize that he created 15,000 new government job? Doesn't he realize that he's just helping Aunt Sue, and Bonquisha, and Latoya screw up the government? Hell if these new jobs are going to be anything like the Post Office is, we should just pay these workers off now and let the go. The "created" jobs are going to do nothing for the economy anyway, they don't pay the same taxes we do.... I guarantee he could stimulate the economy like no other right now by doing one thing. CUT THE CORPORATE TAX RATE IN HALF! Plain and simple. The US has the highest Corporate tax rates in the world! No wonder why more and more companys are moving their headquarters out the country and to places like Dubai. By cutting the tax rate in half, it will give companies incentives to want to stay and start productions here. It will inturn result in lower prices to the consumer, thus giving the consumer more buying power. More buying power means more spending we the consumer will do. It will start the business life cycle in full speed mode again. Plants will need to higher more workers to handle the demand as well as other parts of the delivery processes. Why is that so hard to see? No they want to stimulate the economy by pumping money into the wrong places with money we dont have. They want to issue bonds for the government that no one will buy. They want to print trillions of $ just to spend it. Don't they see the dollar value dying? Don't they realize someone has to pay for all of this? Don't they realize inflation will comeback to haunt us for years and years? |
And while I'm spittin my game here...
WHO the HELL wants nationalized health care? Did they see what happened to the Post Office when that was nationalized? Sure it will give everyone health care but Idon't want to wait 7 days in the ER with a broken arm because there's 700 other people there waiting with colds and sneezes, and herpes and warts. O and did I mention I can't wait to see the attitudes of the nurses and doctors that will help me with my broken arm. The lack of competition and standardized pay will make the healthcare "professional" normal peole again. There will be no need to rush and get more people healthy again, There will be no consideration for those in need. Patients will just become a number in a line and recieve the same level of care as everyone else. People will die from waiting on waiting list. People will abuse the system like they abuse everything else. And they think this is a good idea because 40 million American don't have health insurance? WOW isn't it a coincidence that its also the same 43.3 million Americans that dont pay taxes? Hmm... Sounds like Socialism to me... So what happens when we do nationalize health care? Lets see those same 40 million Americans that don't have health insurance now will flood the doctors offices and hospital for no apparent reason but to get free shit. SO I'll have to sit there with these 40 million American while I have a broken arm and my health insurance cards are no longer good anymore. But wait... Whats going to happen to those health insurance companies when we nationalize health care? I guess we'll add to that 43.3 million American that don't pay taxes... And when the hell does the President of the United States have the authority to demand a corporation's CEO resign and be replaced? Where the hell has CAPITALISM gone? Wheres the free market society that has made America the most desired place to live and work? Ok I'm done for a while... |
lol, I see someone else is at least as frustrated as I am about the state of the country. I am proud to say I didn't even vote; why vote when you are choosing the best of evils? So I get someone who will rape me but smile and say thanks, as opposed to someone who will just give it to me dry?
And a side note about taxes (nothing to do with Feds, but still an annoyance): In Iowa (maybe other places too), if I get cash out of an ATM that is not a member of my bank. I get charge a $2 fee. Fair enough. But to apply sales tax on the fee?? WTF! As I recall, I don't get anything from the fee (except a lighter wallet) - it should be the bank that charged the fee that gets charged the tax. I just don't get it. |

Wasnt there a discussion about buying our own island a while back?
|
Yes, I think there was. No one had enough cash to make it a reality, so the idea died.

The volvo would look good, but it would need a camo paint job to get the full effect. |
Yeah, it's actually cheaper if you buy it in a belt (IDK how that works, but very convenient).
Camo would be funny, brown with rust spots all over and some "give peace a chance" stickers would work too. |

BG, I'm a little more than frustrated with the politics of todays world. I too chose the option not to vote. I was pretty excited about it, it would have been my first election able to vote for the Pres, but I chose to say screw it. I'm a bit too educated to join Obama-mania and drink the liberal kool-aid, and McCain was slowly turning far left for my likings... I would also like to suggest a way to fix our political system and get these screw ups out. How about we enforce the dreaded 2 words of TERM LIMITS! Get these 80 yrs old walking caskets out of Congress PLEASE! There no reason to be in gauged in Politics at 70+, much less 80+. The fricken purple pill can't even help these guys and its a damn joke that we have them making choices for us in Washington. Its a joke that we take care of them like they are gods and pay them rediculous amounts of money and benefits. Just my song and dance again... |
