If it does not got any kind on charity component then personally I'm out... I'm more than happy to put the time in for good causes (pizza castle, T's, mike xmas, paralyzed, RCM monster bash charity raffle etc) but this just doesn't have that element...

I look it as a 20X return on investment turning $5 to $100 which should enable you get get an ESC and $50 to a charity that had $0 to start with...

Do they do anything with the donations for your calculator? Or how about for the laptop gift that was done?

I think the animal/kid stuff doesn't belong here. You could better give the money to a company like WWF if you would like to help animals or UNICEF if you would like to help children.
This site is made by Mike for selling his stuff (right?). If someone get's the check he MUST have to use it in Mikes store and because of that Mike will make profit from the buyer because he sells some stuff to the Raffle winner.
And I think this should be for Mike, not for animals or that kind of stuff because this site is originally made for Mike's stuff that he sells.

I hope you guys understand it, my English isn't that good

Winners to receive redeemable RCM certificates sounds good by me.
I'm not against the charity but I'd rather see all 100% go to us guys getting something back for all the money we spend on RC. Sorry if it sounds a little selfish.

I don't receive enough donations for them to catch, lol. I may have a month where I get 2, then nothing the next month. That's ok of course, just stating that PP doesn't care when it's at that level. But, if all of a sudden I get 50 X $5 donations, they might get suspicious.

I send my raffle money :)

I'm in, but I seriously think maybe a money order or something would be the best bet. I'd hate to see someone loose their paypal acount, and everyone loose their money because some paypal internet cruiser found this post and deemed it gambling. Here is a link to the other one I was talking about that got busted http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.ph...6&hilit=raffle

brian u could just offer something as a freeware of something and accept 5 dollar donations,

Amazing the different opinions here. I agree w/Chris....a % should go to a worthwhile cause. I also agree w/Brian in doing a trial run as well.

This has the potential in serving 2 purposes. First, someone could win a great prize....and second, if this progresses, could help out the less fortunate. Remember, we are blessed w/the wonderful hobby which we all love and there are many that have nothing. I my self have to take a step back from time to time and realize that my own needs sometimes have to come second to the less fortunate.

Just my 2 cents worth

This might be the ticket. The Speed Calculator script download could be $5 for example. The only issue would be the taxman. If something is offered for sale in a forum this public, taxes would probably have to be collected/paid.

It would be Kool...

Instead of someone putting there PP account in jepordy . Just add the PP fees to your donation . So after they are deducted you are left with a $5.00 donation. I think thats the eaisest way to do this .
