Now the rear end is just crimped on, right? No fancy threads?

BrianG 08.03.2009 01:52 AM

Not even crimped from what I can tell, just glued.

pinkpanda3310 08.03.2009 01:58 AM

I take it Monster Mike is binning the long motor heatsink/clamp idea then.

Finnster 08.03.2009 10:45 AM

What would it take to make the feigao XL clamp to work? Just some longer screws? Same diameter right?

nitrostarter 08.03.2009 10:49 AM

As far I know yes. I use the RCM "L" sized heatsink on a 36-60 with no issues. The XL should fit the 70 and 80mm cans, longer screws may be required.

The Medusa heatsink that was planned covered up the rear endbell holes.

Arct1k 08.03.2009 11:11 AM

The XL works on an 80, L on the 70/60 and and S on the 60/50...

Mike paid for a new extrusion so yes they will still be coming... In the future it is a more "generic" heatsink with removeable front and rear plates.

lutach 08.03.2009 11:25 AM

Will Medusa still warranty the motors?

BrianG 08.03.2009 11:29 AM

Nope. The only are taking care of what they had for claims already prior to the website notice.

That stinks.

glassdoctor 08.03.2009 11:41 AM

The Medusa endbells don't have much lip on them... not really enough to drill and screw, unless you use something smaller than 3mm. But the Feigao endbells do fit, and they have a bigger lip.

BTW, I should have a couple new in package 36-60-2000s if anyone is looking for one of those.

Arct1k 08.03.2009 11:42 AM

I agree on that one - to get out of business and turn your back on all those 2 yr warrantys.

Something went very wrong fast, they were advertising and promoting in RCD only a couple of months back....

BrianG 08.03.2009 12:09 PM

GD: The existing lip on the motor should be plenty large enough to use a small screw. Not 3mm maybe, but it doesn't need a large screw to supplement whatever glue they use. I have a couple screws I found in my bin that just need a 1/16" hole and the screw can self-tap the rest.

Mentat 08.07.2009 01:58 AM

why not get everyone together and purchase their rc division? I would invest in it.

pinkpanda3310 08.07.2009 08:20 AM

Sounds interesting but if medusa don't want to look after that division there is enough investers who's gonna be left with the baby of running it? Sounds like a logistical nightmare:no:

whitrzac 08.07.2009 04:28 PM

so what happend???

himalaya 08.12.2009 06:21 AM

So are they still there ?? I ordered two motors 4 days ago at their website, they charged my card and let me be, no shipping notice like before, the status listed at their web tracking is still "ordered", for 4 full days. Emailed them and waiting for reply.

Any suggestions what to do? Can I get what I ordered or get my money back?

suicideneil 08.12.2009 07:34 PM

They do respond to emails I believe- someone had the same issue as you just a week or so ago. They wont be answering the phone though, although it never hurts to try I suppose (snail mail may be an option too).

Mentat 08.12.2009 09:22 PM

snail mail? LOL i would never ever waste my time sending a letter. It will more then likely never make it, or if it does they wont read it. Best thing to do is get a 12-gauge shotgun and go visit them. :P

montyjcm 08.19.2009 06:55 PM

Just wanted to let you guys know that medusa is definitely still responding to emails (support@medusaproducts.com). I talked to a guy, Jeff, a few times last week. Quick responses. He told me to send my motor in to see if they can repair it. I will keep you posted on what happens

Metallover 08.19.2009 06:57 PM

Ask them why they shut down their RC stuff. :whip:

montyjcm 08.19.2009 07:00 PM

I will next time we talk. Hopefully, I get something returned to me. I was still a little wary shipping it.

whitrzac 09.25.2009 12:39 PM

do they have anything in stock still??

what caused them to go under?

I asked them this same question in an e-mail and this was the response-

I guess with the economy in the crapper and all the cheap imports we just lost out.

Our sales fell flat and there was no recovery in sight.

It wasn’t paying the bills on an average of 3 orders a day so what do you do?

I am in talks with others who want to pick up various product lines.

phildogg 09.26.2009 10:18 AM

What about the motors people like mike have instock? Who is going to pay full price for a motor with no warranty or support?
