I have taken a bigger look at the picture than you will ever know, so to point at me and suggest I somehow haven't is a great assumption. I have no power to change the way anyone sees life, I just have the power to live my life as Christ wants me to.

What happened to no religion or politics here? LOL anyway so long as we are ruining faith here, I’ll drop my 2 cents. When I took world religions in college from some hippy teacher I really noticed the hypocrisy and why wars are fought and all the crap that goes on. I was raised an Episcopalian. I think that’s something like Catholic light beer. I don’t go to church or pray (except when I’m in jail Jesus seems to be my friend LOL) my religion does come from the bible, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Karma is real! Buddhism or Zen Christianity or even Ganesh.. I’m not giving the church any 10% of my money, the government takes 40% already so what I get ½ a days wages for a full days work ? Blow me !! The biggest hypocrite I know is my step mother. Church going bible thumping loon, yet the first to sling a racial slur. I believe in a God. He watches over all of us, too much stuff to be just a coincidence. I take care of a kid in Africa named Bellum. Bought him a pig and a water bucket and school clothes and feed him. That crap gives you good karma and would make this God smile. I believe in aliens too thanks to Carl Sagan (rip)

Christ
anointed, the Greek translation of the Hebrew word rendered "Messiah" (q.v.), the official title of our Lord, occurring five hundred and fourteen times in the New Testament. It denotes that he was anointed or consecrated to his great redemptive work as Prophet, Priest, and King of his people. He is Jesus the Christ (Acts 17:3; 18:5; Matt. 22:42), the Anointed One. He is thus spoken of by Isaiah (61:1), and by Daniel (9:24-26), who styles him "Messiah the Prince." The Messiah is the same person as "the seed of the woman" (Gen. 3:15), "the seed of Abraham" (Gen. 22:18), the "Prophet like unto Moses" (Deut. 18:15), "the priest after the order of Melchizedek" (Ps. 110:4), "the rod out of the stem of Jesse" (Isa. 11:1, 10), the "Immanuel," the virgin's son (Isa. 7:14), "the branch of Jehovah" (Isa. 4:2), and "the messenger of the covenant" (Mal. 3:1). This is he "of whom Moses in the law and the prophets did write." The Old Testament Scripture is full of prophetic declarations regarding the Great Deliverer and the work he was to accomplish. Jesus the Christ is Jesus the Great Deliverer, the Anointed One, the Saviour of men. This name denotes that Jesus was divinely appointed, commissioned, and accredited as the Saviour of men (Heb. 5:4; Isa. 11:2-4; 49:6; John 5:37; Acts 2:22). To believe that "Jesus is the Christ" is to believe that he is the Anointed, the Messiah of the prophets, the Saviour sent of God, that he was, in a word, what he claimed to be. This is to believe the gospel, by the faith of which alone men can be brought unto God. That Jesus is the Christ is the testimony of God, and the faith of this constitutes a Christian (1 Cor. 12:3; 1 John 5:1). ©Easton's 1897 Bible Dictionary Word Origin & History Christ O.E. crist, from L. Christus, from Gk. khristos "the anointed" (translation of Heb. mashiah, see messiah), from khriein "to rub, anoint," title given to Jesus of Nazareth. The L. term drove out O.E. hæland "healer" as the preferred descriptive term for Jesus. A title, treated as a proper name in O.E., but not regularly capitalized until 17c. Pronunciation with long -i- is result of Ir. missionary work in England, 7c.-8c. The Ch- form, regular since c.1500, was rare before. Christmas is O.E. Cristes mæsse and retains original vowel sound; Father Christmas first attested in a carol attributed to Richard Smart, Rector of Plymtree (Devon) from 1435-77. Christmas tree first attested 1835 in Amer.Eng., from Ger. Weihnachtsbaum. Christmas cards first designed 1843, popular by 1860s. Online Etymology Dictionary, © 2001 Douglas Harper |
Ahhh i.e. i.c. the drunk jewish guy who led 500 people across the desert with no water and only 1/2 made it LOL

It's called "Christ Consciousness" and many other 'prophets' possessed "it". I can't believe you are using the Bible dictionary, if you want BS, that is where to find it.
It's Rabbi Jesus Cunobeline is his name. Jesus had a brother as well, Judas Khrestus, who had two sons, Simeon, and Jacob, Simeon had one son Eleazar, Simeon and Jacob were both crucified in 46 AD, while Eleazar crucified in 70 AD. What was the church trying to hide? An interesting quote from a pope: "How we know what a profitable superstition this fable of Christ has been for us" - Pope Leo X |

Ahhh, I forgot about the dead sea scrolls, thanks for posting that panda.
So yes, it is not really known full well the history, but it is well known it didn't happen the way the church portrays it. The church must have used this either 'other' Jesus, and exploited him for use, and/or he never existed , and/or there was a Jesus that transcended to "Christ Consciousness", that so many other "Christs" have done supposedly achieved, but personally I think they were man like you and I, but have transcended the material world. There are too many 'coincidences' in each case, and maybe we can achieve this level of evolution; after all, we do only use a small fraction of our brain, and certain drugs have shown us what else are brains are capable of. But, as it stands right now, we just don't know, once you know enough about history, human nature, war, certain individual's greed, human control over others (governement, whatever you want to call it). Once we achieve a certain level of knowledge (ie. scientific knowledge) and it is allowed to flourish without oppression and control, it won't matter, we will have everything we will ever need and more. Science now, particularly Quantum Physics opens the door to almost joining "Spiritual" aspects and "Material" or "Physics" aspect into one theory of the universe. Only time will tell. |
Are you referring to string theory?
|
No, not String Theory, Quantum Mechanics (Physics), Quantum meaning very very small; is what I meant to say. In particular, Entanglement is one of the greatest mysteries in physics; when two particles become entangled, they are inextricably linked, and a change to one is instantly reflected in the other, even if they are on opposite sides(whatever that means) of the universe.
The back cover of my favorite Quantum Physics book says: "Einstein was wrong: God DOES play dice with the Universe". |
Hawking right?
Interesting concepts abound at the moment, they're just very hard to prove...which like religious beliefs makes for some colourful 'debates', especially when conducted in forums because it's almost impossible to prove or disprove the theories or beliefs I'm not saying that entanglement has no basis in fact, I'm just saying that until recently E=MC2 was widely accepted as the holy grail corner stone principal...as we learn more the 'theories' if you like, become less robust...more fragile...or totally disproven. I think the jury is still out on so many principals, theories etc, the best position to be in - is an open minded one. This may be what you are saying also? |
Amir D. Aczel is the author.
The interesting thing about Quantum Mechanics is you can't disprove nor prove it really, it just is what it is. It is always expanding, it is an open science, always learning new "situations" as it were in the quantum world (and why can't it apply to the macro?). Of course it is not perfect, as we are not at the point where we can say we know the universe (far from it actually), as the more we know, the more we realize we don't know, until we come to a point, whenever that point may be. If you haven't already, read the book Entanglement, or similar, it will literally take your breath away. I would not say Quantum Theory is liken to Religion, one is based on the understanding of events/experiments/observations, and the later is based on, well, nothing really, superstition at best. Quantum Mechanics opens the door is what it does, I think it is at least pointing us in the right direction. Like you said, you just have to keep an open mind, which religion has the effect of 'mind box', living in a box in the mind, where this is what is, and that is the way it is. And E does not equal MC^2... even when I was a child I never agreed with it; Nikola Tesla reaffirmed that for me later on. Many physicists now are leaning away from relativity and to the 'new' sciences, as now we are designing our technology on the theories of ancient Even Einstein himself at the end of his days became a sort of 'mystic', going back to the idea that there is 'something else', a god force as it were(along with other QM physicists). His colleagues and followers kept it going and the money changers (Morgans, Rothchilds, etc.) funded that type of science, as the direction Tesla was going with Zeropoint Energy was obviously unprofitable for them. Also, I think TexasSP is misinterpreting the message I am trying to portray, maybe he now knows what I mean? |
