nitrostarter 10.22.2009 10:34 AM

Hmmm, I wonder if they are trying to amplying a 1/10 truggy class?

Looks pretty good tho. Should be a nice platform for a cc/2650....

Bondonutz 10.22.2009 10:57 AM

Now that I've seen some decent pictures of it, It is "kinda cool".
Looks beefy for a 1/10 scale anyway.
Remote start is still pretty dumb but noob friendly I guess, It'll have cheap apeal to the masses of beginners ?

I doubt it'll be that cheap - a DX3S as standard?

I guess Losi was asked the question:

'What do people who don't like nitro want?'
A. Onboard Starting System
B. A decent, strong brushless 1/10 truggy.

Their answer - A. Got that one a touch wrong.

Of course, it'll still sell massively somehow.

gixxer 10.22.2009 04:29 PM

The truck looks good to me. If they made an electric one, I might actually buy something from losi.

I agree

shaunjohnson 10.22.2009 04:45 PM

losi makes a TENT!!!
take it camping with you.

as for the remote start, cool...but how many traxxas ez starts have you seen endlessly cranking over untill it's battery goes flat cause some noob cant tune it or something!!
if it stalled, it stalled for a reason and a remote start isnt gonna fix that!!
if it wont start...you STILL have to be down on the ground beside the car to figure out what is wrong!!!
SOOOOO STUPID!!!

brushlessboy16 10.22.2009 04:48 PM

they are trying too hard to keep up with traxxas

edit- Looks like a lot of 8ight parts...

If they sold an electric or roller version it would be a nice platform

i do like the 10th scale zombie max's tho...

big greg 10.22.2009 05:12 PM

they dont need to try, this thing will eat a slash 4x4 for lunch, it should be brushless tho

Finnster 10.22.2009 08:21 PM

On a 2nd look:
Plus's:
4WD
3 diff
BB shocks
Cool tires
4mm buckles
Nice radio

Finally a 1/10 scale stadium truck that isn't built like a anorexic ballerina that isn't a porkpie rustler.

Cons:
Imperial hardware
"ROSS" -flipping ghey
ST's are not very popular. If this was a SC truck it may have bigger impact.

Nice timing w/ the 4WD Slash, but it would be better as a SC.

stum 10.22.2009 09:48 PM

May end up just seeing a 1/10 4x4 class instead of a anything specific to keep more people interested in racing and at the track.

PS how hard will it be to swap tires extend the body mounts and put a SC body on it?

actually, it is a 2 speed. that was a big letdown for me. i might have actually considered getting one if it had a center diff.:whip:

its a center diff not a 2 speed, they couldnt call it a truggy if it had a trans

boostedg60rado 10.22.2009 10:26 PM

price is $599.99. As for the Losi platform everyone knows you buy a losi for 2 reasons to win races and to be light weight doing so. There cars are top notch. not a huge fan of there 1/10 stuff. but this actually looks like it could be something to have fun with minus the nitro and electric start. Geez whats next someone comes with it to drive it for you.

2-Shoe Clutch and 2-Speed Transmission

The TEN-T's 2-shoe clutch is based on Losi's race-oriented clutch design for incredible durability and acceleration. Whether you're racing on a track or tearing up the backyard, the clutch design will give you the power you need.
You are right.. tranny? WTF. I would imagine a CD would be an easy swap tho the way its setup. You only need a 2spd due to a weak nitro engine.

Rip out the crappy starter motor and put in a real BL motor and give the thing some balls.

$600 is crazy tho. Nice radio, but $600 is still $600 for an rtr 1/10 scale.

Edit: Says $499 on their website... they should do a kit or roller later on.

shaunjohnson 10.23.2009 01:10 AM

does anyone know how much zombie max tyres SUCK!!???
they balloon like a bich and have no grip on ANYTHING!!

big greg 10.23.2009 01:40 AM

i dont see where you guys see the 2 speed thing? i looked over and over and didnt see it, how could they call it a truggy if it has a tranny? that is one of the main specs of a truggy=center diff

shaunjohnson 10.23.2009 05:54 AM

lololololololololololo tent tent tent lololololololololololool

enlighten 10.23.2009 09:14 AM

Sorry about the new thread in mini truggy  Thought thats where discussion would be but didn't think to search :whip:

I like it... pity its a stinkin' nitro though :diablo: Hope the E version's in the works.

The parts explosion is up on losi's site...

Hi Res pic here...
http://www.losi.com/Content/ProductS...6/chassis1.jpg

Offset centre diff so hopefully heaps of room for batts. Should be enough clearance on the right to mount a motor and keep the mudguards?

The body might also be a good fit for a CRT.5 + RCM chassis conversion?

The arms will probably make it to wide for a SC body, the tires will stuck out ?

Topspeedtimmy 10.23.2009 09:44 AM

In order to get proper CORR truck proportions, you would need to lengthen the chassis to increase the wheel base and/or shorten the arms to decrease wheel track. Too much work. The 4x4 slash looks pretty solid, except the shocks and powerplant.

The zombie max tires and ROSS start seems like a very bad choice for this platform. It's supposed to be an agile truggy! Not anymore. They would have been better suited to some very cheap, band-handling basher truck. If they're going for the beginner with this "easy" starting system, they're price point isn't going to help them out that much.

Nard Cox 10.23.2009 01:55 PM

Seems an awesome car for electric conversion:

Why don't my YouTube links work?

big greg 10.23.2009 04:53 PM

three gear diffs, like i thought

Finnster 10.23.2009 07:05 PM

Perhaps its a 2spd center diff (I think thunder tiger has a trug like this.)
Its def 2spd, look at the CB.
I thought I saw 3diff somewhere too, but now I don't see it. Stupid air filter is in the way.

Check out the Hi Res exploded view...
http://www.losi.com/ProdInfo/Files/L...plodedView.pdf

Looks like a buggy version may not be too far away? Seems to be provision for body mounting points low in the middle of the rear shock tower and on the front upper plate?

My favorite part!!!

WTF?? Looks like a gear reduction "tranny" feeding into a center diff. Odd, that. Guess thats the only way to get their motor to work.....?

Ok.....I'm an idiot.......and need more coffee before I start typing....its nitro, thats a nitro starter..........DUH!!!

JAILBIRD 10.24.2009 06:25 PM

I saw the TET-T at ihobby today. I have to say it looks pretty nice in person. I think it would be a good platform for a conversion.

Crap ! I saw the Ihobby sign saying its through the 25th, coming back from the city yesterday, got the OK from the wife and planned to go today. I woke up thinking "what was I supposed to do today", and came up with clean the fish tank LOL DUHHH. Im going tomorrow for sure. Its 8 minutes away ferfuxaches

FG101C 12.26.2009 11:51 PM

How sweet would that be if Losi did a 4wd corr truck based on this truggy? That would be the SC truck to have.

Bondonutz 12.27.2009 09:12 AM

I'm a big Losi fan but I was rather unimpressed when I heard of this release. After I read the RC Mag article thoroughly I'm really likeing the layout and roller specs for another possible conversion. I will wait to see what the general consensous is a while after it's releaseto determin worthyness. I will be keeping an eye on it.

crazyjr 12.29.2009 06:26 PM

I did some checking and it has a 48tooth spur gear, does anyone know if its Mod-1 or .8 (32 pitch)? If its a mod-1 its possible the buggy/truggy RCM mount will fit with possibly some spacing

Bondonutz 12.29.2009 08:39 PM

With it being nitro I'll bet the farm it's Mod1
