Me too then. Wasn't trying to bash you. Still intersted man. just not at $300.

JERRY2KONE 01.06.2010 02:08 AM

Thats the thing.

That is the thing here. When it was not out there for anyone to easily purchase maybe $300 was not crazy to some people, but if you can get something similar for $100-$150, then why? Still if you come up with an alternative with some different features or adjustments, then it may still be something that people will want, but more than likely not for more than $125 at best. Unless you make it from some exotic materials. Supply and demand come into play. The Chineese do it every day by ripping off someone elses designs, and sell for cut throat prices beating out American competitors and running them out of business.

Bottom line is that whatever you make if it is in direct competition with RCM or FastLane, then it probably is not going to fly on here.

I've seen Mike's and I'm holding out for his. But I think you should see your project through. For the experience and knowledge you will learn from going through having an idea and actually seeing it produced. There is some trial and error involved with where you are at, and they will be valuable lessons to learn.

An example would be the fasteners. I suggested "ears" and you said countersinking. Only by having Mike's in my hand I know there just isn't enough room there for countersinking and a suitable fastener. But you wouldn't know that until you try.

If you do see it through, one pic of it on the noob forum and sales on e-bay would move your product quite easily. $300 is crazy though. And keep in mind the $110 for mine INCLUDED driveshafts.

Keep up the killer work!

My design is not a carbon copy of Mike's. a countersunk me screw will fit..

ASYSTEMERROR 01.06.2010 10:48 AM

I hope you guy's sort out this stuff, there are so many people waiting on a "CDMM" it's the only way to move up to the next level. people are making there own i see them all the time savage's sporting 8s and 10s setups bashin like there off that "Liquid Snake" i would love to finish my truck before May but if no one brings the "BEEF" i'll just use the flux mod and the junk brushless system @ 5s till then. After the "CDMM" I will still need a Slipperdiff for a good build so that's around 300 anyway ! This is what happends when you want something nice, unique, different, worth your time, not out the box, Totally Custom....Totally Worth it ! :rules:

let's see it then! This is why I encourage you to continue. Try your design, you'll see what I mean. Important lessons, only learned by doing. Git-r-don!

Mike has only 30 in the making. It's been how long to get them  They will last X long and then people will have to revert to other avenues for a mount. I think he's doing you a favour

The timing is coinciding but at least ppl are interested in these.

JERRY2KONE 01.19.2010 10:00 AM

Information.

Thats exactly what I have been trying to tell MonsterMike for over two years, but he just does not seem to believe that many people will want this item. I hope he is watching the threads and comes up with more then just 30of them. If I can swing it I will purchase three of them myself.

RC-Monster Mike 01.19.2010 01:01 PM

If there is interest for more than 30, then more will be made. While I am making this batch, I am updating/making proper fixturing that will make subsequent batches easier - this was initially a one-off product and thus a bit of a PITA to make(yet quicker and easier than making production fixturing at the time). These will be added to the site and offered as an item as long as there is reasonable interest. :)

suicideneil 01.19.2010 02:26 PM

One per customer, first come first served- otherwise some git will buy the lot and resell them at 500% profit markup...

brushlessboy16 01.19.2010 03:21 PM

Went in and serviced out cnc machine today.. i guess ill make a few for personal use

JERRY2KONE 01.19.2010 06:56 PM

Thanks mike.

Thanks for the update Mike. Good to hear that you are not just going to stop at 30. Otherwise it will become a war just trying to get ones hands on it for a reasonable price. Everyone is waiting patiently for the initial release, but the first 30 will go fast.

That's good news! I guess you were holding off because they are a pita to make huh?

I must be missing out on something here - is it for the savage ? If it is can I have one ? I want one !

Or maybe i'm completely off base here & it's for another vehicle.

Will convert a T-Maxx nicely as Mikak aka MJBE has shown also.

MiRatlhed 01.23.2010 10:08 PM

That is awesome news Mike that you are going to add it to the site. My UE Thunder will have one of these puppy's on it. I only need one so hopefully I can get my hands on one of the first runs of production. I have been following this on here and the UE forum for some time now. Now that MJBE has shown that it is not going to be hard at all to mount them my excitement is growing by the day.....:yipi:

There's an idea brushlessboy! Make a mount for the savage! You've got a savvy and make the mount super chunky style for those that want to run a 1717. Then you won't be in direct competition with Mike and you can charge what it was worth to make plus some 'cause nobody else makes them and ppl with a 1717 in a savvy will want it and pay for it.

Just an idea. I agree with paralyzed and would like to see you follow through with this project.

Matter of fact I've half a mind to get some mounts done for myself
