Well the motor can not put out no more than the batteries let it. So batteries are important.

In this case is it better to go lower turns or higher number of turns?
It looks like I’m getting the 1930 but which one?
Is there any other ESC that will run the 1930 other than the worrier?

coolhandcountry 04.17.2006 10:23 AM

The amount of batteries and stuff makes a difference on the turns you want.
Most any sensorless brushless esc can run the lehner 1930. As long as the amps match up some.

captain harlock 04.17.2006 11:12 AM

Go for a 1920/5 turn and a 12020 esc( if you want to cut down the cost a bit) and use either 4s lipos or 12 sub c cells. One guy at a certain forum was able to pull his TC3 to 86mph easily with that thing. A 1920/4 turn on 3s lipos or 4s will take you to speeds which are higher than 86mph. The 1930 are very powerful in comparison to the 1920, but since someone was able to push his car to 80+mph with a 1920, then why bring the bigger, costier one?!

Hayden 04.18.2006 03:43 AM

Nice that’s the figure I was after 80mph+ I can use 12 cell sub c or up to 8 cell lipo but I prefer 6 cell.

So the 1920 will go 80mph+ and since the 1930 is bigger will it push the car faster?

I was after a ESC that looked good for e.g the novak GTB it won’t work but it looks good, the car is for show as well as speed.

captain harlock 04.18.2006 05:35 AM

4s lipos with a 9920( cheaper than 12020 and capable of handling the 1920/5 easily) would easily get you to the 80 realm.

Yes, the 1930 will put even more power and speed than the 1920, but it will also add so much strain upon the transmission of your car to the point where you will find that all of the cvds are either bent or broken and the gears will quite possibly melt with the excessive power of that nasty motor.

A 1920/4-5 is more than enough for super insane speed. You make your choice, now, and you must bear the outcomings.

RC-Monster Mike 04.18.2006 07:54 AM

1930/8 with a capable 4s Lipo and MGM controller(LVC built in) would be my choice. Driving the car with this much power is a different story. :)

captain harlock 04.18.2006 10:58 AM

Well, make up your choice, Hyden. All of these setups are distructively fassssst, but maybe you want to keep your car safe and sound for another few packs instead of 1 pack and then work on it on the bench and change drive shafts and gears.

Hayden 04.19.2006 08:32 AM

My boss won’t sell many so I may just get it straight off mike.

Hey Mike how much will it cost to get the 1930 shipped to Queensland Australia?
I know the motor is $250.00 but I want to know how much in Australian dollars and your shipping cost too.

Hayden 06.12.2006 08:42 AM

How about this:

Schultze future18.97kw
http://www.modelflight.com.au/schulz...lers_esc .htm

Lmt 1930 about a 5 turn

Flightpower FPEVO37004S1P 3700 14.8V 74A
http://www.modelflight.com.au/flightpower.htm

will that work?

danverz 06.12.2006 10:55 AM

Hi all,
I know here you do not like so much plettenberg, but they make
a very powerful motor for 1/10 touring car:
the shadow: 600 watts with 6 cells.
I reached somewhat really near 100 km/h with a pletty shadow and a
Schulze Future 18.97 overgearing the model.
I tried to do the same with a Schulze UForce 75, but I smoked it.
I used a 2s4p lipo from thunder power.

Ciao,
Daniele

Hayden 06.18.2006 05:44 AM

Now this confuses me:
The 1930 is about 1200watts and the basic XL5000 is 1300watts
That is 81amps for the 1930 and 87amps for the XL5000 @ 14.8v unless the XL5000 is inefficient it is better than the 1930 **and cheaper**

Is my theory correct?
If so then why is the 1930 so expensive? is it better quality than the XL5000?

According to findesignrc

Serum 06.18.2006 06:15 AM

The 1930 is more efficient, it uses a segmented magnet.

Check the movie that goes around here, with viruss his savage and 4S lipo..
That baby flies..

The 1930 is better than the XL.

Hayden 07.17.2006 08:41 AM

I got my 1930 today and I’ll I can say is….WOW crap that’s mad!!!

"your freakin mad mate”

my poor touring car:)
