THe second vid at like 35 seconds you hit that rock pretty good with the front suspension, and it didn't seem to flinch!

asheck 04.24.2010 06:22 PM

If I was planning on more heavy bashing or track then it would be to soft but I like the shocks set up very light, to allow some good flex. I like to let the suspension move good, but it actually suspends nicely, I'm pretty happy with this setup. Though I'm sure at some point my front shocks, to match the rears, will find their way on.

Uhh, yeah, I did that on purpose to show it's durability :0

Some harder bashing vids. Still no breakage. Put the 1/8 shocks on the front, they do work a little better, but bottom out before the chassis does, so some adjustment is still needed. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLXtwx_DDbI

The back flips are awesome! Great job asheck!! When are you gonna call it a success? Because the test are in and they are positive. Traxxas would be wise to market such a truck. I'm glad to see you use 1/8th scale shocks. What brand are they?

asheck 04.26.2010 10:35 PM

Thanks. I would call this a success, however I'm not ready to make it my beater. I've had about 3-4 hours of runtime , and only had 1 nut loosen, and did rip a shock screw out of the rear RPM arm. That's better then my 3905 did, by far, and comes in at under 7.5lbs. But I think the main thing is it works on a handling, and fun factor, and while I'm sure it's not the strongest thing out there, it is the only one.

It took a couple jumps to get the hang of this truck. Being that it is still running on 2s, it has very little braking force, and is not near as easy to control in the air, as my E-revo. The shocks are just like the rear, Hyper 7 fronts. They work pretty good as mounted in the stock points, but a better multi-postion tower would be nice.
Speaking of 2s, I can't believe how good 2s is doing. I'm running right at 35mph, have very good torque, and have yet to see temps go above 120 on the motor. I'm getting an easy 45 minutes of runtime , before hitting lvc, this with 2 Blue lipos 5000mah 20c paralleled.

Alright, now I'm ready to call this thing beatable. I hate this truck :diablo:

1 bent front turnbuckle, 1 bent battery strap retainer post. Not to bad.

suicideneil 04.29.2010 09:24 PM

**thud**

 Pretty minor damage though, I think too its safe to call it bashable.

I'd cry if I had to jump either of my trucks like that- I'll save it for the next project I think...

asheck 04.29.2010 09:42 PM

I'd cry to see you do that to your truck.
Yeah, for as bad as the ** thud** was, this is it.

Officially done. The Xerun combo does great, have a 2.4 installed, and all the bugs are gone.
Time for the next one.

asheck 11.30.2010 05:57 PM

I have this for sale, if anyone is interested, no electronics. Last time I drove it I broke A rear RPM arm and knocked the front end out of whack. So it will need some tweaking. Was only drove a couple times after the above setup was installed. PM for price.

What are you saying about the Stampede 4X4?

Nothing spectacular

But not quite sure the relevance

Kcaz25 11.30.2010 08:54 PM

Well I'm asking because it seems like you had the first one.

asheck 11.30.2010 10:06 PM

I always considered this much more Maxxy, then Pedey, but I see what you mean. I guess now this would be considered a 1/8 scale Stampede 4x4.
:intello:

If the Stampede 4x4 is this, only smaller, it should be pretty cool. I'm just hoping for 30 series Mashers.

Kcaz25 11.30.2010 11:19 PM

Yeah thats what I meant.
The new stampede is more slashy than pedey if you ask me. Which is fine. I like it. Would be a sweet throw around truck a truck you could keep stock
